Description
The invention relates to a brick. It is known to provide thermal insulation of masonry by providing the masonry with insulating layers on the outside and/or inside in a separate subsequent operation. The object of the present invention is to design a brick in such a way that the masonry and the masonry insulation can be created in one operation and/or the brick and the insulating material are made of the same material.
A brick that solves the problem is provided by the invention according to claim 1. Advantageous and expedient further developments of this solution to the problem are specified in subclaims 2 to 15.
The invention creates a composite brick consisting of a standard brick and an insulating layer, which eliminates the need for the usual additional and expensive insulation of masonry. The thickness of the insulating layer can be chosen as desired depending on the intended use. The composite brick can be laid like a normal brick and/or glued with thin-bed mortar or similar, and the integrated insulating layer can be covered with a layer of plaster or a facing brick.
The tongue and groove connection creates an inseparable
Dies erfolgt zweckmäßig bereits bei der Herstellung des Rohlings.bond between the brick and the insulation layer. It is particularly advantageous to use foam clay as an insulating layer and a masonry brick for the composite brick, which can then be manufactured as a whole in one operation. The brick and the insulation material can, ■advantageously, be made of the same material, for example clay. The use of perforated bricks is particularly advantageous here, as their surface-side channels only need to be provided with a longitudinal recess, for example for the T-bar to form a T-groove. This is conveniently done when the blank is being manufactured.
The production of the composite brick is easy with bricks because foam clay raw material with or without a form in the desired thickness simply needs to be applied to the brick blanks with grooves. The foam clay flows into the grooves and also bonds to the surface of the brick blank. The brick blank and the foam clay applied are then dried and fired together. The insulation layer can then be ground flat and calibrated if necessary. If the material is chosen appropriately, the brick and the insulation layer can be dried and fired together, for example if the brick and the insulation layer are made of clay.
According to one embodiment of the invention, when using a hollow clay brick, it can be filled with foam clay as an insulating material and dried and fired together with the foam clay.
To improve the insulation effect in the joint area of the composite stone, the insulation layer on the side edges can be designed for a tongue and groove or overlapping connection.
The bond between brick and insulation material can have different densities, which allows an optimal combination of sound and thermal insulation to be achieved.

The drawing shows in Fig. 1-3 a composite stone 2, consisting of a brick 4, for example a brick, and an integrated insulation layer 6 on one side. Such an insulation layer 6 can also be formed on the opposite side.
The brick is preferably a perforated brick, which is indicated by dashed lines in Fig. 2 and is indicated by the reference number 7.
The brick 4 has grooves, for example dovetail grooves 8 (Fig. 1), T-grooves 10 (Fig. 2) or oblique grooves .12 (Fig. 3) or other suitable grooves, in which complementary tongues 14, 16 and 18 of the insulation layer 6 applied to the brick 4 are arranged. In the composite brick 2 according to Figs. 1 to 3, a butt connection of both the brick 4 and the insulation layer 6 of adjacent composite bricks is provided.

The opposite side edges of the insulation layer in the brick 4 according to Fig. 4 are provided with a groove 22 and a complementary tongue 24 to achieve a tongue/groove connection 26 between the adjacent insulation layers 6 and 6' of adjacent composite bricks and 2'. The tongue 24 is designed as a projection protruding from the edge of the composite brick.
Two versions of an overlapping arrangement in the area of the insulation layer are shown in Fig. 5 and 6.
In the embodiment according to Fig. 5, one side of opposite sides of the insulation layers 6, 6' has a stepped recess 28 and the opposite side has a complementary stepped projection 30, so that the overlapping arrangement 32 shown in Fig. 5 results.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 6, an edge side 34 of the opposite edge sides of the insulation layer protrudes from the composite stone edge or the brick edge by a part 36 and the opposite edge side ends set back by the amount of the projection 36, so that the overlapping arrangement 40 shown in Fig. 6 results in the area of the insulation layer of adjacent bricks.
A suitable mortar or adhesive can be applied to the joints of the tongue and groove joint 26 or the overlaps 32 and 40.
A preferred method for producing the composite brick 6 consisting of the insulation layer 6 and the brick 4 is described below. First, a brick blank is produced as usual, preferably a brick blank, in whose side that is to be provided with an insulation layer, grooves are made. These grooves can be, for example, dovetail grooves, T-grooves or simple oblique grooves. When producing perforated brick blanks, only recesses opening into the surface need to be made in the edge channels.
- 5-- 5-
nehmungen vorgesehen werden, um T-Nuten zu erzeugen.recesses must be provided to create T-slots.
Then an insulating layer made of sealable pipes, mineral foam material, preferably foam clay, is applied to the side of the brick blank with grooves. If necessary, the application is carried out using a mold if there is a risk that the applied foam material could flow down the side of the brick blank.
The resulting composite brick blank made of brick blank and foam material and insulation layer is then dried as is usual in the manufacture of bricks and then fired. The foam clay mass can of course also be applied to the already dried or fired brick, in which case the brick with the insulation layer is fired or dried again.
After firing, the foam insulation layer can be ground flat and calibrated if necessary.
If the insulating effect of the insulation layer in the joint area of the brick is to be improved, the opposing sides of the insulation layer can be designed for an overlapping arrangement or a tongue and groove connection, as described above with reference to Figures 4 to 6. The corresponding grooves and tongues and recesses and projections are preferably created when the mineral foam material mass is applied using a suitable mold, which remains on the composite blank as a lost mold or is removed after the drying process.
Die Fig. 7 zeigt einen Mauerstein 4 in Form eines Hochlochziegels, vorzugsweise eines Hochloch-Tonziegels, dessen Löcher 7 mit Schaumton 6 ausgegossen sind. Das Ausgießen mit Schaumton kann beim Tonziegel-Rohling erfolgen, wobei anschließend der Ziegel und der Schaumton gemeinsam getrocknet und gebrannt werden. Das Ausgießen mit Schaumton kann auch beim bereits getrockneten oder gebrannten Ziegel erfolgen;Fig. 7 shows a brick 4 in the form of a vertically perforated brick, preferably a vertically perforated clay brick, whose holes 7 are filled with foam clay 6. The pouring with foam clay can be done with the clay brick blank, with the brick and the foam clay then being dried and fired together. The pouring with foam clay can also be done with the brick that has already been dried or fired;
In this case, the foam clay passes through
Bricks undergo another drying and firing process. In order to achieve an optimal combination of sound and heat insulation, the bond between the brick and the insulation material can have different densities.
