Description
The invention relates to a sleeping bag with an outer wall, an inner wall and chamber walls connecting the inner wall to the outer wall, which divide a space formed between the outer wall and the inner wall into several chambers for accommodating filling material, wherein at least part of the chamber walls runs diagonally between the outer wall and the inner wall.
The requirements for modern sleeping bags are varied and sometimes contradictory. One important aspect is that they must have good thermal insulation with as little weight as possible to make them easier to transport and to ensure a high level of sleeping comfort. Down fillings offer good thermal insulation with a low weight, with different types of down being used. The higher the quality of the down, the higher the level of thermal insulation for a given weight. However, the price of high-quality down is also comparatively high, so that such sleeping bags are only suitable for a limited group of buyers. Other aspects are the moisture absorption and moisture transfer of the sleeping bag, given that a sleeping person releases more than 1 liter of moisture overnight. Down, especially natural down, has a high moisture absorption capacity. However, if this capacity is exhausted, the excess moisture remains in the sleeping bag. This also affects the thermal insulation capacity of the down. The sleeping bag must then be carefully dried over a long period of time. Down sleeping bags require careful care overall, whereby soiling or clumping of the down filling should be avoided as far as possible. Down sleeping bags offer a very high level of sleeping comfort, as the down filling is soft and airy, which means that the sleeping bag fits well to the shape of the body and sits loosely on the body.
liegt. A down filling also offers a subjectively very pleasant feel.
Synthetic material as a filling, on the other hand, absorbs only a small amount of moisture, but is able to wick the moisture away to the outside. The insulating properties are far less dependent on the level of moisture. There is also still usable thermal insulation when the plastic material is compressed. Plastic sleeping bags are relatively easy to care for and have long-term shape stability, while production costs are relatively low.
Although - as mentioned - at least in the lower and middle price segments, synthetic material fillings have their advantages over down fillings, consumers generally prefer sleeping bags with down fillings. In addition to a possible general preference for natural materials, this choice is also influenced by the sleeping comfort, which is often perceived as superior, and the pleasant feel of the down sleeping bag.
The invention is based on the technical problem of providing a sleeping bag that combines the positive properties of a down sleeping bag with the advantages offered by plastic materials. The sleeping bag according to the invention should offer high utility value, in particular good insulation, and be inexpensive to produce. In terms of subjectively perceived sleeping comfort and pleasant feel, as well as in terms of external appearance, the sleeping bag according to the invention should not differ from a high-quality down sleeping bag.
This task is solved by the fact that the chamber walls, which in known sleeping bags consist of gauze fabric or mesh material and serve to prevent the filling material from slipping, are made of a synthetic fiber fleece, and that the filling material consists of down or has a down component. The synthetic fiber fleece has a very high thermal insulation capacity, since the volume of air held in the fleece is comparatively large with little air exchange between the spaces formed by the fibers. The chamber walls therefore form a highly insulating sleeping bag layer, which, due to their slanted course, at least largely thermally insulates the interior of the sleeping bag from the environment. As a result, a filling material with reduced thermal insulation capacity can be used. Therefore, instead of high-quality down, such as eiderdown or goose down, simple duck or chicken down can also be used, or artificial down or a mixture of artificial down and natural down. The production costs are reduced accordingly. The sleeping bag is also easier to care for due to the potentially significantly reduced down content. The sleeping bag still feels like a pure down sleeping bag, as the down filling essentially shields the inner chamber walls made of fleece material from the inside and outside. The down filling is less likely to slip within the chambers as the chamber walls are quite rough. The down or the down content can fully cope with the task of absorbing moisture.
There are a number of possible variants for the design of the chamber walls. It is particularly preferred that the chamber walls form a continuous intermediate layer between the outer wall and the inner wall, at least in some areas. This design creates a continuous, homogeneous, shielding insulation layer.
It is particularly preferred that the chamber walls run essentially in a zigzag shape (V-wall) at least in some areas between the outer wall and the inner wall. This design results in a row of immediately consecutive chambers with down filling or filling with down content on both the outside and inside of the sleeping bag, so that the user gets the impression of a sleeping bag with a continuous down filling. The synthetic fiber fleece layer is thus covered on both sides by the down material. The seam area between immediately consecutive chambers, for example on the outside of the sleeping bag, is opposite a chamber on the inside of the sleeping bag in the area of its maximum chamber height, so that cold bridges are effectively prevented.
The thickness of the synthetic fiber fleece is preferably 10 to 30 mm, preferably around 20 mm. This results in a high thermal insulation capacity with a tolerable total weight. The synthetic fiber fleece can be made from conventional synthetic fibers, such as polyamide and polyester fibers, or from hollow fibers, such as the fibers sold under the trade names "Hollofil" and "Quallofil" by the "Du Pont" company, or from microfibers.
It is preferred to use a synthetic fiber fleece made of microfibers to produce the chamber walls. Such a synthetic fiber fleece made of microfibers offers a particularly high level of insulation, since the fine fibers prevent the exchange of air between the spaces formed by the fibers particularly effectively. On the other hand, the small diameter of the microfibers is in the order of magnitude of the wavelength of the thermal radiation, which leads to a significantly increased proportion of the thermal radiation being returned with less heat dissipation through the fleece.
The microfibers preferably have a thickness of 0.8 to 2.2 den, preferably 1.2 to 1.8 den. Microfibers that are at least predominantly made of polyolefin fibers have proven to be particularly advantageous.
Es zeigt:The invention is explained below using a preferred embodiment based on the drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 einen Längsschnitt eines erfindungsgemäßen Schlafsacks (Schnitt nach Linie I-I in Fig. 2); undFig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a sleeping bag according to the invention (section along line I-I in Fig. 2); and
Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf den Schlafsack gemäß Fig.Fig. 2 is a plan view of the sleeping bag according to Fig.
The figures show a sleeping bag, generally designated 10, in a highly simplified representation. It is formed by an outer wall 12, an inner wall 14 and chamber walls 16 connecting the inner wall to the outer wall 12, which divide the interior between the outer wall 12 and the inner wall 14 into a plurality of chambers 18 provided with filling material. The sleeping bag 10 also has a foot-side base outer wall 20, which closes the sleeping bag on the foot side and is sewn to both the foot-side peripheral edge of the outer wall 12, which is sewn together like a tube, and to the corresponding peripheral edge of the inner wall 14, which is also sewn together like a tube. For insulation in the foot area, a foot-side floor inner wall 22 is provided, which is sewn to the floor outer wall 20 in the area of the seam connecting the floor outer wall 20 to the inner wall 14. Between the floor outer wall 20 and the floor inner wall 22, an intermediate space divided into chambers 18 is formed.
A hood 24 is provided at the head end of the sleeping bag, for example in the form of a chamberless additional strip of fabric or, as shown, in the form of a chambered sleeping bag extension, possibly with a bead-shaped edge 26 with a chamber 18 for receiving filling material.
Furthermore, the sleeping bag 10 can also be provided with a thermal collar 28 in the area of the sleeping bag opening, which can also contain, as shown, a chamber 18 for receiving filling material. In the figures, as already mentioned, the sleeping bag is only shown in relation to its general structure. Usual details, such as zippers or drawstrings, are omitted.
The outer wall 12 and the foot-side floor outer wall 20 are made of standard sleeping bag outer material, in particular synthetic material, possibly with a moisture-repellent coating, depending on the intended use of the sleeping bag. The inner wall 14 and the foot-side floor inner wall 22 are also made of standard lining material.
Derartiges Mikrofaser-Vlies ist unter dem Han-For the chamber walls 16, however, a special synthetic fiber fleece is used, namely made of microfibers. Their thickness is significantly reduced compared to conventional fibers, namely to a thickness corresponding to 0.8 to 2.2 den (= 0.09 to 0.25 tex), preferably 1.2 to 1.8 den (= 0.13 to 0.20 tex). These fibers mainly consist of polyolefin fibers. Due to the correspondingly small fiber diameter, a fairly large enclosed air volume results for a given total fiber weight. Furthermore, the proportion of heat radiation returned to the heat source by such synthetic fiber fleece is significantly greater than with conventional, much thicker fibers. Such microfiber fleece is under the trade name
delsnatnen "Thinsulate Liteloft" erhältlich.delsnatnen "Thinsulate Liteloft" available.
To form the chamber walls 16, a continuous synthetic fiber fleece 30 is expediently used, so that only V-wall quilting is to be provided with quilting seams 32 symbolically indicated in Fig. between fleece 30 and outer wall 12 and quilting seams 34 between fleece 30 and inner wall 14. The quilting seams 32 and 34 are arranged offset from one another according to Fig. 1, with one of the seams, for example the quilting seam 32, being arranged centrally (in a direction parallel to the sleeping bag longitudinal direction A) between the corresponding quilting seams 34. The seams 32 and 34 run in the circumferential direction of the sleeping bag, so that tubular chambers 18 running in the circumferential direction are formed accordingly. The sleeping bag can be made up of one piece from all-round chambers 18 or it can be made up of several parts, e.g. two parts from a sleeping bag bottom part 3 6 and a sleeping bag top part 3 8, each with its own chamber system.
Due to this V-wall construction, cold bridges in the area of the quilting seams 32,34 are reliably avoided, since each of these seams is opposite a chamber 18 in the area of their maximum chamber height.
The thickness a of the synthetic fiber fleece 3 0 is between 3 0 and 3 0 mm, ideally around 20 mm. This provides good thermal insulation between the sleeping bag interior 40 and the environment, while the total weight of the sleeping bag is not too high.
