Behälter für KleinteileContainer for small parts
The invention relates to a container for small parts that can be used multifunctionally.
In modern logistics, it is necessary to move away from manual handling of transport, storage, picking and gripping containers and to handle them mechanically. This creates the need to reduce the number of different containers and to strive for their flexible use.
Transport containers of this type have already been described several times.
A device for making assembly parts readily available at manual assembly workstations is known from German patent application 38 23 142. This device consists of a receiving container with a gripping tongue and the actual gripping container. The receiving container has means for detachable connection to a holding device that is provided at the assembly workstation. The receiving containers can be placed in a larger transport or storage box in their lying position. The type of handling of the boxes in relation to storing and removing them from the transport or storage boxes is particularly disadvantageous. Furthermore, stacking several receiving containers on top of one another makes it impossible to pick in one operation, as containers on top have to be removed and put back up again to fill the lower containers.
93G6236 DE93G6236 EN
Transportraum verloren. Greif- und Kommissionier- bzw. Lager- bzw. Transportfunktionen werden strikt getrennt.Furthermore, valuable storage or transport space is lost when the small containers with their maximum surface area are placed in a larger container. Gripping and picking or storage or transport functions are strictly separated.
The object of the present invention is to create a container that can be used equally as a gripping, order-picking, storage and transport container, whereby the container should only require a minimal amount of space during order-picking, storage or transport. It is also necessary to make this container machine-handleable.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.
The container according to the invention is essentially cuboid-shaped and has an opening that can be used from both the top and the front, the front and top walls being significantly shorter than the back and bottom walls and the side walls being cut at an angle so that when the container is turned over from the vertical to the horizontal position, the side walls prevent the parts from falling out and sliding forward.
After various tests, the most favorable cutting line has been found to be a curve that is concave from the side surface and connects the front edge of the top wall with the upper edge of the front wall.
Der Kurvenverlauf des Bodens wurde durch Versuche undThe container has a base that is placed above the lower edges of the side walls and the front and rear walls and is curved downwards in such a way that a depression is created near the front wall, preferably in the middle of the side walls, which is limited by the underside. The curve of the base was determined by tests and

Ergonomic tests have been carried out to ensure that the last parts that slip into this recess are as easy to remove as the first parts from a completely full container. It has proven to be particularly ergonomic to connect the front wall to the slightly sloping base at this point with a rounded transition, so that when a component is picked up, it can be easily separated using the sloping surface.
Further details, advantages and features emerge from the description of the following embodiment, which is shown in the following drawings and explained below.

Fig. 2: eine Vorderansicht des Behälters in Richtung AFig. 2: a front view of the container in direction A
In Figures 1 and 2, a container 100 is shown with a rear wall 140, a top wall 130, a front wall 120, two side walls 160 and a base 170. The bottom 150 is a cavity which is delimited by the lower sections of the rear wall 140 and the front wall 120, the side walls 160 and the underside of the base 170. The side walls 160 each have a forward and upwardly directed recess at approximately half their length and width, the edge formed by the intersection line a of the recess being a concave curve, the edge essentially connecting the front edge 131 of the top wall 130 to the upper edge 121 of the front wall 120. The side walls 160, the front wall 120 and the top wall 130 thus delimit an opening 110 which serves as a removal and/or picking opening.
93G6236 DE93G6236 EN
The upper edge 121 of the front wall 120 is positioned below the cutting line a. The upper edge 121 is lowered downwards in an arc between the side walls 160. The front wall 120 thus flows smoothly into the base 170 along the upper edge 121, forming a radius.
Durch die Kantengestaltung der Seitenflächen 160 mittels der Kurvenform entlang der Schnittlinie a ist wiederrum die Öffnung 110 groß genug, um die Bauteile im Inneren bequem zu erreichenStarting from the front wall 120, as well as the rear wall 140 and the two side walls 160, the floor slopes downwards in such a way that a depression 171 is formed in the front area of the floor 170, with the lowest point of the floor 170, the depression 171, being located in the middle below the opening 110, i.e. in the area of the floor 170 that is most ergonomically accessible. The slightly raised side walls 160 in the area of the opening 110 serve to laterally limit the gripping area. Due to the edge design of the side surfaces 160 using the curved shape along the cutting line a, the opening 110 is again large enough to easily reach the components inside.
On the underside 150, a locking hook 172 is formed on the base 170, pointing towards the rear wall, which is offset forwards by a predetermined amount relative to the front edge 131 of the upper wall 130. The locking hook 172 is located centrally between the side walls 160. The locking hook 172 has a locking lug 17 3, the outer surface of which is flush with the lower edge of the side walls 160.
The rear wall 140 is set back upwards relative to the lower edges of the side walls 160 by a distance that corresponds at least to the height of the upper wall 130. The locking lug 173 can either be only a few millimeters long, or extend almost to the rear wall 140.
The part of the base 170 and the front wall 120 facing the underside 150 form a downwardly open recessed grip 180.
93G6236 DE93G6236 EN
The rear edge 133 of the top wall 130 carries a holding device 134. This is formed by a hook extending along the rear edge 133 of the top wall 130. The holding device 134 also forms the rear edge of a holder 132 for a first label, which projects beyond the top wall 130 of the container 100. The holder 132 is formed by a frame located above the side walls 160 and the rear wall 140 on the top wall 130, into which a label can be inserted from the front edge 131 of the top wall 130. As an alternative to this fastening option for a label, the rear edge 133 can also be designed as a clamping strip.
When the container 100 is equipped with a holding device 134, the rear wall 140 below the holding device 134 is bevelled in such a way that the lower edge 141 of the rear wall 140 and the outer edge 135 of the holding device 134 lie in one plane. This plane is then perpendicular to the underside 150 or upper wall 130 of the container, so that a flat standing surface, the rear side 142, is created.
In one embodiment, the front wall 120 of the container 100 is designed in such a way that it forms a receptacle 122 for a second label. In this case, both terminal strips and frame structures analogous to the receptacle 132 of the first label field are possible as the receptacle 122.
The container 100 is designed in one piece. In order to be able to be used in the electrical industry or in production areas used in electronic components, it is made of antistatic material, preferably it is made as a one-piece plastic molded part made of electrically conductive polypropylene.
93G6236 DE93G6236 EN
In production areas with small batch sizes, it is still common practice to use different containers for different work processes. Container 100 described in the previous section is multifunctional and can be used as a gripping container, as an order picking container, as a storage container and as a transport container.
When used as a picking container, the container 100 is placed in a larger container standing on its rear side 142 to save space. The recessed grip 180 makes handling easier both manually and with mechanical handling, e.g. grippers. The flat design of the front wall 120 with the recessed grip 180 behind it is advantageous for both manual handling and mechanical handling. Several containers 100 can now be placed in a standardized collection container (not shown), for example a standardized so-called Eurofix container, with the outer edge dimensions of the rear side 142 being selected in such a way that an integer fraction of the clear dimensions of the collection container is obtained. When using a Eurofix container, the dimensions of the container 100 are selected in such a way that twenty-four containers 100 can be placed in the container standing on their rear side 142. The dimensions of the container 100 can also be adapted to other containers at any time, depending on requirements.
The second label on the front 120 is readable from above. It can be attached before picking and then serve as a carrier for the picking instructions. It is possible to make the label machine-readable and fill it by machine, or the containers 100 are first filled and then, if necessary, by machine

The containers 100 placed in the collection container can be stored or temporarily stored in the former. When the containers 100 are in the upright position, the contents are prevented from falling out by the relatively high side walls 160 and the design of the base 170 and the top wall 130, even in the event of vibrations.
Durch die wenigstens um das Maß der Oberwand 130 verkürzt gestaltete Rückwand 140 und den um ein vorbestimmtes Maß versetzt angebrachten Rasthaken 172 sind die Behälter 100 um dieses Maß von unten nach obenAfter transport, e.g. to the assembly workstations, the required containers 100 are removed from the Eurofix container by the employee or by mechanical handling using the recessed grip 180 and can be used as a grip container. When used as a grab container, the container 100 can be used standing on its underside 150 at the workplace. The design of the upper edge 121, the slightly raised side edges of the side walls 160, the opening 110 and the base 170 ensure ergonomically favorable handling of the parts to be removed, preferably electronic components. The parts slide into the depression 171 of the base 170 due to gravity. Due to the design of the depression 171, only a minimum of the parts lie in it. These parts are further separated easily by being removed via the rounded upper edge 121 and the slope leading to the depression 171, so that a part can always be removed within easy reach. Both the first and the second label are legible when used in this way. If several different components are required, they are delivered in several containers 100. The containers 100 can be stacked safely at the workplace by the locking hook 172 of an upper container 100 gripping the front edge 131 of the upper wall 130 of a container 100 below and locking it in place using the locking lug 173. The rear wall 140, which is shortened by at least the size of the upper wall 130, and the locking hook 172, which is offset by a predetermined amount, allow the containers 100 to be stacked by this amount from bottom to top.

In a third possible use, the containers 100 can be inserted into a holder available at the workplace, e.g. in an assembly stand, using the holding device 134. The advantages of the ergonomic design remain the same in all possible uses. After the containers 100 have been assembled and emptied, they can be reused in a new cycle.
Am Arbeitsplatz können die Behälter 100 manuell oderIt is also possible to place the containers 100 on their underside 150 and with a machine-readable first label attached to the top wall 130 on a conveyor belt or the like. The information contained on the label, e.g. part number, batch size, work station number and/or similar, is read in via a recognition unit, e.g. a scanner or the like, and processed by a data processing system. This information can then be passed on to an automatic loading unit, which automatically fills the containers 100. The containers 100 are assigned to the respective work station via a further control unit and transported to the same via the conveyor belt, where they are removed by the employee or by machine handling, e.g. grippers. Furthermore, the control unit can be designed in such a way that a recognition unit located at the workstation and/or production islands, e.g. a scanner, selects the required containers 100 from the containers 100 that are continuously moving past on the conveyor belt and then removes them from the conveyor belt as already described. In a further development, it is possible for the individual employee at the workstation to enter the required part number or the like into a data processing unit, process this information via a control unit, pick the container 100 via the loading unit and transport it to the workstation via a special belt control. At the workstation, the containers 100 can be loaded manually or
