Dieser Apparat hat nur dann einen Zweck, wenn das Absperrventil in geöffnetem Zustand verbleiben kann. Das Oeffnen und Absperren soll der Druckminderapparat selbstthätig bewirken. Während nun in diesem Falle das Absperrventil offen bleibt, hat man sich während der ganzen Zeit ausschliefslich auf die Dichtheit der Stopfbüchsenpackung zu verlassen.
