The invention relates to an electrical socket for halogen lamps, wherein the socket consists of heat-resistant material, has means for fixed attachment and is connected to a reflector.

In the prior art, such ceramic plug-in sockets are known which can be installed in a fixed location. For example, these ceramic sockets can be fixed in a fixed location or can be screwed or clamped to a lamp housing. Heat radiation from the halogen lamp inserted into the reflector or the socket is relatively large, so that such sockets with reflectors are only suitable for certain purposes.

So-called cold light radiators made of glass, which have a halogen lamp permanently mounted in them, are known, particularly for object lighting in shop windows and the like, also for installation in ceilings or parts of walls.

Such cold light radiators have connector plugs on the back for use in a corresponding electrical socket.

In order to secure these cold light radiators to the socket, additional clamps or similar are required to prevent such a radiator from coming loose from the socket and possibly causing fire damage.

The invention is based on the object of creating an electrical plug socket of the generic type which is easy to manufacture, consists of as few individual parts as possible and in which a high degree of positional stability of the parts relative to one another is achieved.

To solve this problem, it is proposed that the socket including the reflector is molded in one piece from plastic.

Because the socket and reflector are made from plastic in one piece, an indivisible unit is created that can be manufactured extremely cheaply, for example, using an injection molding process and meets high safety requirements. The socket according to the invention, including the reflector, can be screwed onto a lamp housing or a frame. Conventional halogen lamps can be inserted into the socket

with plug pins, whereby the plug socket has spring-loaded connection socket contacts for receiving the plug pins. With a standard size, for example a reflector diameter of about A cm, halogen lamps with a power of 20 to 50 watts can be used. It is particularly preferred that the plug socket and reflector are opaque.

In this way, unwanted light emission to the relative back of the reflector is prevented.

It is particularly preferred that the socket and reflector are made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS).

Such a plastic material has a heat resistance of up to 290 ⁰ C, so that the material can easily withstand the usual thermal stresses.

It is particularly preferred that the inside of the reflector is metal-coated, in particular vapor-deposited.

This enables the reflector to emit light in a directed manner. Basically, the metal coating or vapor deposition of reflectors is well known.

By using the plastic material described above, heat radiation to the rear is largely prevented, as the plastic material mentioned has heat-insulating properties.

For this reason, the plug-in sockets with reflector according to the invention are particularly suitable for recessed lights such as so-called downlights.

The reflectors can be designed in spot or flood design.

According to the invention, a plug-in socket 1 is made in one piece

The socket 1 has connecting elements by means of which it can be attached to the frame or to the housing.

For example, socket 1 can be screw-mounted or clamp-mounted.

What is particularly advantageous about the design according to the invention is that, due to the reflectors with sockets that are injection-molded from plastic, a large variety of designs is possible with regard to the shape.

Furthermore, the compact design is conducive to use in so-called designer lights, for example, since the space requirement is relatively small.

The invention is not limited to the embodiments, but is variable in many ways within the scope of the disclosure.

Electrical plug-in socket for halogen lamps, the plug-in socket being made of heat-resistant material, having means for fixed attachment and being connected to a reflector, characterized in that the plug-in socket (1) together with the reflector (2) is molded in one piece from plastic. 2. Plug-in socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the plug-in socket (1) and reflector (2) are opaque.
