The invention relates to a protective fan for keeping ice, snow and frost or frost away, particularly on windshields.

The purpose of such an invention is to prevent ice and snow from getting on the windshield. This eliminates the need to scrape it off. In summer, the sun's rays are partially blocked from reaching the interior, and the steering wheel, seat, etc. do not get hot.

Devices with a similar purpose (winter use) are already known today, such as foils. These have the disadvantage that they are difficult to install, clean and store.

The invention is based on the object of finding a device which is easy to install, easy to clean and can be stored in a small space.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that several slats are arranged around a rotation axis, which open like a fan from a basic position into a segment-like surface. Furthermore, the protective fan is designed in such a way that the slats are locked in the basic position and/or in the open position, for example by interlocking ribs or knobs.

The advantages achieved with the invention are in particular that the function is immediately recognizable, the device can be easily attached and removed by one person, even in the dark and without difficulty, and cleaning and storage are also easy.
