Washing glove» especially for car washing

The innovation relates to a washing glove, in particular for car washing, consisting of two material layers connected to one another at the edges, leaving a hand opening between them, whereby the first layer consists of a fibrous material that enables a mechanical cleaning effect and the second layer consists of an absorbent leather or synthetic leather material.

Vv A washing glove of the type mentioned is known from DE-GM 75 17 994. In this washing glove, the first layer consists of a real animal skin, the fibers of which serve to achieve the mechanical cleaning effect. The disadvantages of this glove are that the material used is relatively expensive, that it is subject to natural fluctuations in quality and that the achievable mechanical cleaning effect is relatively low. A further disadvantage of the known washing glove is that it, or more precisely its wide layer, does not allow for perfect drying of washed surfaces.

The task is therefore to create a washing glove of the type mentioned at the beginning* which avoids the disadvantages listed and which can be produced in particular at low cost and with consistent quality and which offers both good cleaning agent-saving properties.

This problem is solved in accordance with the invention by a washing glove of the type mentioned at the beginning, which is characterized in that the first layer consists of a synthetic pile material, preferably knitted pile; a flexible, water-impermeable intermediate layer is arranged between the first layer and the second layer.

The use of synthetic pile material ensures that the first layer of the wash mitt has a good mechanical cleaning effect with little effort, as the pile length and density and the shape and surface structure of the pile fibers can be freely selected and thus optimized. In addition, the intermediate layer prevents the leather from becoming moist again when dry-leathering washed surfaces, so that a perfect, streak-free result can be achieved when leathering. In addition to washing cars, the wash mitt can also be used advantageously for cleaning work in the home and in other areas.

The intermediate layer is preferably a plastic film laminated onto the surface of the first layer facing the second layer. The intermediate layer can thus be applied before the two layers of the wash mitt are connected to one another, which makes production simple and cost-effective. In addition, the intermediate layer is particularly durable and thus remains tight even over longer periods of use of the wash mitt. Alternatively, the intermediate layer can also be a layer of PVC, latex, rubber, polyurethane or similar materials applied to the first or second layer.

In a further development of the innovation, the second layer is provided with a large number of small perforations. This improves the water absorption capacity of the leather forming the second layer, so that the drying of surfaces takes place more quickly and thoroughly. Furthermore , the second layer can consist ^of even ^more TjsaerlBaen in order to achieve a particularly high water absorption capacity.

Finally, it is also preferred that the washing glove has a substantially rectangular shape and a size that corresponds approximately to the size of two hands lying flat next to each other. This creates the advantageous possibility of giving the glove either a fleece outer side on both sides or a leather outer side on both sides by folding it up, whereby there is still enough space inside the glove to insert a hand.

On the outside 20, the knitted pile layer 2 has a large number of pile fibers, which ensure a good mechanical cleaning effect of the wash mitt 1. In the example shown, the leather layer 4 is provided with a large number of small openings 41 to improve the water absorption capacity. Alternatively, the leather can also be completely smooth. In addition, the leather layer - regardless of its design - is very suitable for printing, so that the wash mitt can also be used as an advertising medium.

The shape of the wash glove 1 is flat and rectangular, with the layers 2 and 4 being firmly connected to one another on three sides by means of a circumferential seam 5. On the right-hand side of the glove 1 in Figure 1, a hand opening 10 is cut out, through which a user of the wash glove 1 can insert his hand into the interior of the glove 1.

From the cross-section through the washing glove 1 shown in Figure 2, it is clear that, in addition to the two layers 2 and 4 already described, it also has an intermediate layer 3 which is connected to the underside or inside 21 of the knitted pile layer 2. The intermediate layer 3 here is a water-impermeable protective film laminated to the side 21 of the knitted pile layer 2 facing the leather 4. This prevents water from the outside 20 of the knitted pile layer 2 or from the knitted pile layer 2 itself from getting into the leather layer 4, which is particularly advantageous for drying washed surfaces.

In the left and right edge areas 22 and 42 or 22 ¹ and 42* of the knitted pile layer 2 and the leather layer 4, the seam 5 running around the inside 10 of the glove 1 can be seen.

The size of the wash glove 1 is preferably selected so that it corresponds approximately to the size of two hands lying next to each other. If the wash glove 1 is folded in the direction of the movement arrows 61 in the folding plane 6 shown by a dashed line, a wash glove 1 is produced which has a leather surface on all sides on the outside. Similarly, in the opposite way, by folding the wash glove 1 in the direction of the movement arrows 62, a glove can be created which has a pile surface on all sides on the outside. Due to the specified size of the wash glove 1, it can still accommodate one of the user's hands even when folded.
