Dieser Raum dient dazu, eine gewisse Einstellung der Karte gegenüber den Nadelenden zu ermöglichen, wenn deren Löcher nicht genau correspondiren sollten. Eine Beschädigung der Karten durch die Nadeln, was bisher durch das Einzwängen derselben zwischen dem Prismenbrette und dem Nadelbrette bezw. durch die Unbeweglichkeit derselben der Fall war, wird hierbei vollständig vermieden, da, wie bemerkt, die Ifarte durch die Nadeln C/³ in die richtige Stellung eingerückt werden kann.
