Sehr häufig bekommt man beim Schreiben Tinte an die den Federhalter
haltenden Finger. Dies ist oft unerklärlich, da man doch mit der Tinte im Glase
oder an der Feder nicht in Berührung kommt. Systematische Beobachtungen an schreibenden
Schülern haben folgendes ergeben: Wenn die Schreibfeder zuviel Tinte aufgenommen
hat, so daß Gefahr besteht, daß sie kleckst, so streift man Tinte am inneren, oberen
Tintenglasrand von der Schreibfeder ab; will man einen Fremdkörper von der Federspitze
entfernen, so streift man ebenfalls die tintenbehaftete Schreibfeder an der genannten
Stelle des Tintenglases ab. Wie Beobachtungen zeigten, streifen auch erstaunlich
viele Schreiber ganz unbewußt und zwecklos, häufig beim intensiven Denken und aus
Nervosität, oft nach jedem Eintauchen, die Tinte am inneren Tintenglasrand ab. Oft
kommt auch die tintenbenetzte Feder beim Herausziehen des Federhalters aus dem Tintenglas
mit der Tintenglashalsinnenwand in Berührung. Auf solche Arten gelangt also Tinte
an die Innenwand des Tintenglashalses, da der vom oberen, inneren Rande des Tintenglashalses
von der Schreil)feder abgestreifte Tintentropfen auf der Innenseite des Tintenglashalses

in den Tintenglashals eingesenktes Blechröhrchen
