In
Rubber body for sealing an axle bearing housing The invention
refers to a guinmiring who is used to prevent the ingress of dust
in the bearing housing, in particular of rollers for belt conveyor belts, between roller bearings
and the exit point of the axle from the housing is clamped. With known rubber rings
of this type are two inner annular beads lying next to one another, which form the axis lip-like
Enclose sliding, protruding in the opposite inclination to the axis, and
although the outer to the outside and the inside with respect to the housing according to the
Rolling bearings. This design has the disadvantage that the inner lip-like axis
surrounding bead, because it is directed obliquely to the axis after the roller bearing, the advance
of the lubricant from the bearing to the outer annular bead prevented, so
that when using greasy lubricants a dry running of the outer
Annular bulge occurs. Due to the higher friction caused by this, the outer
Annular bead worn out prematurely and leaking. The one under the ruined outer one
Annular bead, however, dust penetrating from the outside can pass through the inner annular bead, because
it is arranged obliquely to the axis in the direction of the roller bearing, no stopping
will. This means that the dust can enter the rolling bearing and contaminate it. In
This drawback is taken into account in another known rubber ring design
this type only a single oblique to the axis and outwardly directed annular bead
provided, which provides a sufficiently reliable protection against the ingress of
Provides dust in the bearing housing and that as long as the axis does not move in
executes their longitudinal direction, prevents the escape of the greasy lubricant.
But differently
if the bearing play has even slight back and forth movements
allows the axis in the longitudinal direction, because then the lubricant escapes to the outside
off (learn the housing off, because when the axle moves outwards, the friction lock
of the annular bead is loosened. These are losses of fatty scrubbing agent
Although small in themselves, they are in their consequence, namely that caused by it
Soiling and smearing, quite annoying and uncomfortable.
The present invention relates to a rubber body which is the axle
the idlers of belt conveyors between the roller bearing and the exit point
the axis from the bearing housing surrounds and reliably prevents the ingress of dust
into the bearing housing without the axis running dry at any point
or the greasy lubricant can leak to the outside.
For this purpose, the rubber body consists of an outer cylindrical ring, the outer diameter of which corresponds approximately to that of the roller bearing and the thickness of which is in the order of magnitude of the roller jacket thickness and which merges inwards via a short ring piece in the form of a cone-shaped jacket into two adjacent, narrow lip-like annular beads, the inner one diameter of which corresponds to the axis of the liandtragrolle and the axis on which the side facing the outlet side of the obliquely a CHSE from the case of cutting edges are tapered and form a closed annular space between them. In this annular space, the lubricant that penetrates under the inner lip-like annular bead in the event of any axial movements of the axle can collect and also wet the outer lip-like annular bead, without (let - with axial movement of the axle outwards (let the lubricant escape outwards from the housing can because the annulus receives the lubricant moving up.
In the drawing, a tape support roller is partly as an exemplary embodiment
shown in section, with a rubber body between the roller bearing and the axle exit side
is arranged.
In the bearing housing 2 carrying the roller shell i, the roller bearing 3 and the rubber body 4 are arranged side by side, which are braced against each other in the axial direction between a shoulder 5 in the housing 2 and a snap ring 6 arranged in the opposite end of the housing. The rubber body 4 rests with the end faces of its outer cylindrical ring piece on the one hand against the roller bearing 3 and on the other hand against the snap ring 6 . This cylindrical ring piece goes over a short ring piece, which has the shape of a truncated cone jacket, into the two adjacent, narrow lip-like annular beads 7 and 8 ; these are both directed obliquely towards the axis 9, namely obliquely towards the exit side of the axis from the housing and pointed like a cutting edge. They enclose the axis 9 with little tension and between them form an annular space io which is enlarged towards the axis. As can be seen from the illustration, the 'lubricant can pass from the roller bearing under the tip of the inner lip-like annular bead, but not through the outer lip-like annular bead, because it is received in the annular space serving as a collecting space. On the other hand, the tip of the outer annular bead is wetted and cannot run dry. Even when the axle moves to and fro, the annular space serving as a collecting container essentially prevents lubricant from seeping through under the tip of the outer ring, vulstes 8, to the outside. It can also be seen that with this arrangement no dust can penetrate from the outside to the inside of the housing. The marked inclination of the pointed lip-like annular beads 7 and 8 also facilitates the slipping of the rubber body onto the axle during assembly, because neither the outer nor the inner annular bead can turn inside out.
