In accordance with the innovation, it is therefore proposed that the packaging be done in this way increase that the material is in a lockable tin can, this in at least one plastic bag that is welded and / or can be glued shut, is used and the whole of a correspondingly larger one in the manner of a tin can sealed sheet metal container is surrounded.

These larger sheet metal containers 2 are now inserted into the known safety transport container 1 with their radioactive content in accordance with FIG. 1 sj. Their structure can be seen in FIG. 2. The radioactive material 6 is located in a sheet metal container 3 which is closed by a screw cap 31, for example. This is welded into a plastic film bag 4, which can also be glued to ier weld seam, since when inserting the container 3 in this film bag, for example, PuOp particles could have got into the weld seam. The foil envelope 5 shown in dashed lines is provided as additional security. The whole is located in the outer sheet metal container 2, which is closed by a lid 21 with a beaded edge. Instead of the flanged edge 22, another type of closure known from canning technology, such as a tension lock, could of course also be provided. This type of packaging certainly excludes damage to the plastic sleeves 4 and 5 and also serves to absorb any internal overpressure that may arise. The plastic bags 4 and 5 are therefore not subjected to pressure, so that the risk of tearing for this reason is definitely excluded. This type of packaging also ensures that the interior of the security transport container 1 is not contaminated. It goes without saying that this also makes handling of the radioactive material packaged in this way much easier during its transport. This also results in a simpler and more secure storage of the same regardless of the transport problem.
Bei anderen Verschlußarten, wie z.B. dem erwähnten Spannverschluß, entstehen überhaupt keine Kanten, daOpening such a package is also not difficult. This process is usually carried out in glove boxes, where e.g. the lid of the outer container with the help an automatic can opener can be removed. In order to avoid the risk of injury, the cover is e.g. held a suction device or a magnetic device and then put away. With other types of closure, such as the mentioned tension lock, there are no edges at all

5The container material is not damaged anywhere. In particular, the latter closure method has the advantage that the outer container, as long as if they are not contaminated inside, they can be used over and over again. 5
This type of packaging thus combines security and ease of use with economy.
