Daher sind bereits Leitungen bekannt, bei denen die elektrischen Leiter einen ovalen bis flachen Querschnitt haben. Eine solche Leitung ist in Fig. i dargestellt. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist nun ein Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher Leiter. Erfindungsgemäß wird daher vorgeschlagen, bei der Herstellung von Flachdrähten mit ovalen oder flach gedrückten Leitern von runden Leitern auszugehen und diese erst unmittelbar vor der Umspritzvorrichtung in einem kleinen Walzgang flach zu walzen. Eine Vorrichtung zur Ausübung des Verfahrens ist in Fig. 2 schematisch dargestellt. Die metallischen Leiter i und 2 laufen als Runddrähte von den Haspeln d. und 5 ab und werden in dem Walzgang 6 nebeneinander gleichzeitig flach gewalzt und sodann der Umspritzvorrichtung 7 zugeführt, in welcher sie mit einer Isolierung beispielsweise auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid umgeben werden.
