Description

Manufacture of a cadmium silicate manganese luminophore From the technical The zinc silicate manganese luminophore is the closest to usable silicate luminaires Cadmium silicate manganese luminophore gained steadily increasing importance; in particular its use for gas discharge lamps is known. Its luminescent light is yellow-length.

It has now been found that the luminous properties of the cadmium silicate manganese luminophore can be largely changed if a lithium salt is added during its production. Various effects are obtained depending on the amount added. When the lithium salt is employed in amounts between z and 8 01, lith iumoxyd, we come into preparations whose luminescent light in the extent that the Lia O - content increases, has a more reddish tint. With the addition of, for example, about 50 /, Li20 equivalent amounts of lithium salt, one obtains in this way distinctly red-orange luminous bodies, in addition to those cadmium silicate-manganese luminophores produced without or with only a small amount of lithium salt only appear to glow in pure yellow. Red-orange luminophores are z. B. particularly desirable for use in gas discharge lamps.

Surprisingly, it was also found that even further Increase in the addition of lithium, gaining green cadmium silicate manganese luminophores permit. It succeeds if one uses about 8 to 10% lithium oxide equivalent amounts Lithium salt or more.

Finally it was found that specimens with a beautiful red-orange glow also with the high, 8 to roolo lithium oxide and more equivalent additions of lithium salt arise when looking at the starting mix at the same time at least Adds twice as much silica as that of the added lithium salt. appropriate Amount L'20 is.
