Description

Electric mercury vapor tube or lamp filled with noble gas with a luminophore layer Addition to patent 671 677 The subject of the main patent 671 677 is an electric mercury vapor tube or lamp with a noble gas base filling, glow electrodes or cold sheet metal electrodes as well as a luminophore layer attached to the inside of the vessel or on the vessel wall or on a screen placed in front of the tube, which is characterized in that the luminophore layer consists of an isomorphic mixture of a zinc beryllium silicate, suitably in the molecular ratio i Be0: i Zn0: i Si02, which by adding manganese in amounts of 0.1 to 5%, preferably 0.1 5 to 2, oo / o, is activated. Such zinc beryllium silicate luminophore layers are characterized by a very high light yield, whereby it is in the hand, depending on the percentage of manganese, to obtain color tones which, when mixed with the blue-gray light of the mercury tube, lie between green and orange. With a Zn0 # Be0 # Si02 luminophore with a manganese content of 1.2 to 2%, yellowish-white to reddish-white shades are obtained. So these are colored shades with a whitish appearance. A whitish light with an incandescent lamp-like, i.e. a strongly red-sticky hue, is finally obtained by adding a certain percentage of a cadmium silicate luminophore activated with manganese to the Zn0 # Be0 # Si02 luminophore. So although it is possible to use a wide variety of whitish hues It has now been found that in the electric mercury vapor tubes or lamps with an associated luminophore layer described in the main patent, such pure white shades can be obtained if the manganese-activated isomorphic zinc-beryllium silicate mixture used to produce the luminophore layer according to the invention is 5 to 20 o; `o of a blue glowing tungstate luminophore are added. The tungstate luminophore is advantageously formed from an isomorphic mixture of a calcium lead tungstate luminophore, the proportion of lead tungstate of which is advantageously between q. to 70; `o.
