Lichtausbeute ergeben.Electric mercury vapor tube or lamp filled with noble gas with
Luminophore Layer The invention relates to mercury electric vapor tubes
or lamps that are provided with glow electrodes or cold sheet metal electrodes and
in addition to a noble gas filling that facilitates ignition in the interior of the vessel or on the
Vessel wall or on a screen placed in front of the discharge tube or lamp

Color of the primary mercury radiation and the secondary luminescence radiation
The resulting light largely depends on the composition of that for the luminophore layer
used substance. With the help of the previously known for electric discharge lamps

Luminous efficiency result.
Zinkberylliumsilicates besteht.
Zinkberylliumsilicates annähernd dem Molekularverhältnis von i Be O : i Zn O : i
This goal is achieved if the luminophore layer of the mercury vapor tube or lamp mentioned at the outset consists, according to the invention, of an isomorphic mixture of a zinc beryllium silicate activated by adding manganese in amounts of o, z to Aa. It is here in the well-known green luminescent zinc orthosilicate 2 2n0 # Si 02, which is already mentioned with o, oi to. 2% Mn activated: has replaced part of the ZnO with Be0. The as Luminescence exciter used Manganzti-; x
The rate is expediently between 0.5 and ^>.
The light output fluctuates depending on d @ Iii
Manganese addition, the mixing ratio of the silicates and the current density of the discharge between 3o to qo lumens per watt. The best light yield is obtained when, at a current density of the discharge of 0.5 to 0.5 Amp./cm2, the composition of the zinc beryllium silicate approximately corresponds to the molecular ratio of i Be O: i Zn O: i Si O., and the amount of activating manganese is 0.5 to ?, '/ 0 .
liegen. So ergibt beispielsweise eine Quecksilberröhre mit einem Zn O # Be O # Si
O.-Luminophor mit o,1 bis ein blaugrünes, mit o,5 bis i'/,Mn ein grün bis grüngelbes;
Will man ein rötlicheres,
Depending on the percentage of manganese, color tones are obtained which, when mixed with the blue-gray light from the mercury tube, lie between green and orange. For example a mercury tube with a Zn O # Be O # Si O. with 45 to 2 per cent. Mn a yellowish-white to reddish-white light and with a percentage Tiber 2 to about 504 a reddish light. With an increasing Mv content, the red content of the luminescent light increases and, as has been established, the light yield also increases up to a certain activation, only to decrease from then on. The optimum light yield is between 0.5 and 1.5% Mn. Since the green to greenish mixed light obtained when using 0.5 to 1.5 ° j-0 Mn has an insufficient red content for general lighting purposes. If you want to achieve a more reddish, so a more incandescent lamp-like warmer white without reducing the light yield by increasing the manganese content, the zinc beryllium silicate luminophore is still used according to a further feature of the invention while maintaining the favorable manganese content of 0.5 to 1.5% a manganese-activated cadmium silicate was added, the red yield of which is about twice as high in relation to the same luminescence yield. A favorable mixing ratio is obtained if an equal amount of cadmium silicate Cd 5i 03 is mixed with the zinc beryllium silicate, which is preferably activated with 0.8 '/, Mn. The light yield achieved with such a luminophore mixture is only slightly smaller than when it is used a pure zinc beryllium with o, 5 to
1.5% manganese content, however, cheaper than for
Use of a iinkberyllium silicate with
M @ herem manganese content.
he production of the zinc beryllium silicate
inophors is expediently done through
the individual components BerY1-
lium oxide, zinc oxide and silicon dioxide in the desired molecular ratio. The mixture is mixed with enough water zti a stiff paste, then mixed with a manganese chloride solution, the manganese content of which corresponds to the amount required in the finished luminophore, after which the mass is dried at about 250 ° C and finally for 3 to q. Hours at i250 ° C is heated. In the event that zinc beryllium silicate is not to be produced on its own but in a mixture with cadmium silicate, the cadmium silicate can be produced in the same way as zinc beryllium silicate from the individual components, ie from Cd O and Si 02 with the necessary addition of manganese and then the finished zinc beryllium silicate luminophore with it mixed with the calcium silicate luminophore. However, the corresponding proportions of all components can also be mixed from the outset in the required percentages and heated together to the temperature required for the formation of the luminescence property.
