Auf dem Stutzen des Haupttheiles A mit Verstärkungsrippe r (s. Fig. 1) ist der Arm B mittelst der Schraube m drehbar gelagert. Nachdem der Arm B, welcher an seinem vorderen Ende die Druckschraube d trägt, seitwärts gedreht und der schlechte Gummizug aus dem zu reparirenden Schuh entfernt ist, wird letzterer auf das fagonnirte Holz K¹ gesteckt; nun werden Schuh und Gummizug an den zu steppenden Stellen mit Kleister bestrichen und passend in einander gefügt. Hierauf wird das Druckbrett K (siehe Fig. 4) gelegt, der Arm B nach vorn gedreht (s. Fig. 2) und mittelst der Druckschraube d Gummizug und Schuh an der beklebten Stelle zusammengeprefst. Sobald der Klebstoff getrocknet ist, wird die Druckschraube d gelöst und das Brett K entfernt, wodurch der Gummizug zum Einsteppen vorbereitet ist. Es wird nun die eine Seite des Schuhes eingesteppt und dann mit der anderen Seite, wie beschrieben, verfahren.
