Description

Muffle for hardening steels It is well known that scaling is the cause -when tools are hardened, when they are heated and when the tools are removed the furnace on the way to deterrence - special difficulties. One already has suggested that the hardened material be heated using a protective gas. Here the hardened material is more or less protected from scaling in the furnace; however, it is exposed to atmospheric oxygen on the way to deterrence. It is further known to put the objects to be hardened in protective agents, such as coke ash, with the addition of charcoal powder or the like, in closed boxes in the oven Bring temperature. Here the disadvantage occurs that the temperature profile cannot be observed on the hardened material itself and that the laborious and unpacking the material to be hardened is exposed to severe pollution. It was now found that the muffle described below can do it without applying any Protective measures enable the annealing material in the muffle from the furnace to the quenching device without any scaling of the material to be annealed. The grouch is according to the invention for the purpose of increasing heat storage at its open front part formed with a reinforced muffle wall.

Zwei beispielsweise Anwendungsformen der Muffel zeigen die -Abb. z und ?- In Abb. z bedeuten: a Horizontalofen, b Ofentür, e Muffel, d verstärkter Hals der Muffel, e Aufsetznase, f Ösen. Two examples of application forms of the muffle are shown in Fig. z and ? - In Fig. z: a horizontal furnace, b furnace door, e muffle, d reinforced neck of the muffle, e contact nose, f eyelets.

In. In. Fig. 2 mean: a furnace cover, b vertical furnace (shaft furnace), c heating, d muffle, e reinforced neck of the muffle, f eyelets on the muffle for transporting the same, g traverse for hanging up the workpieces to be hardened.

The muffle is suitable for horizontal and vertical fuel or electrically heated ovens. The material to be hardened can be observed closely while it is being heated and remains at that temperature until the moment of quenching Grouch.
