Die Sicherung erfolgt dadurch, daß entweder zwischen je zwei sich begrenzenden Hohlkugeln ein Blättchen oder eine Scheibe mit einer Öffnung druckfest eingesetzt wird oder, wenn es sich um einen mehr als zweikugeligen Behälter handelt, dadurch, daß man ein Rohr, welches mit Öffnungen versehen ist, in die Hohlkörperachse einführt und zwischen den Einschnürungen von je zwei sich begrenzenden Kugeln einklemmt. In beiden Fällen ist die Kommunikation der Hohlkugeln gesichert; jedoch ist die rasche Entleerung eines solchen Behälters gedrosselt. Die in einer plötzlich verletzten Hohlkugel befindliche Gasmenge kann wohl augenblicklich entweichen; jedoch kann das Gas der übrigen Hohlkugeln durch die verhältnismäßig kleinen Öffnungen, die in dem Sicherheitsblättchen oder in dem eingeführten Sicherheitsrohr vorgesehen sind, nur verhältnismäßig langsam ausströmen.The backup takes place in that either between each two delimiting hollow spheres a leaflet or a disc with an opening pressure-resistant is used or, if the container is more than two-spherical, by inserting a tube, which is provided with openings, into the hollow body axis introduces and wedges between the constrictions of two bounding balls. Im anderen Fall handelt es sich um die Sicherung von Gasflaschen alter, niemals angewandter Formen. Es ist auch im letzteren Fall hauptsächlich ein Schutz gegen Bersten durch den Zusammenschluß von Batterien beabsichtigt, außerdem eine Sicherung durch Unterteilung des Hohlkörpers mittels durchbohrter Scheidewände oder Platten. Diese Platten, die annähernd den gleichen Durchmesser wie, die Gaszylinder besitzen, können mit Blättchen oder Membranen nicht gleichgesetzt werden; da sie ungünstig das Flaschengewicht erhöhen. Es wurde auch vorgeschlagen, eine Flasche durch Zusammenziehen der Wände zu verengen. Diese Verengung kann aber praktisch niemals in dem Maß erfolgen, daß nur eine so kleine Öffnung bleibt, die das Ausströmen des Gases wesentlich hemmen würde. Im Gegenteil, gerade durch das Zusammenziehen der Wände entstehen Spannungen in den Übergängen von einer Kammer zur anderen, so daß die Hohlkörper- gefährdeter erscheinen als normale zylindrische Hohlkörper ohne jegliche Sicherheitsvorrichtung.Pressure vessels, the individual chambers of which are connected to one another by narrow openings, are already known.
