In beiden Fällen ist die Kommunikation der Hohlkugeln gesichert; jedoch ist die rasche Entleerung eines solchen Behälters gedrosselt. Es ist auch im letzteren Fall hauptsächlich ein Schutz gegen Bersten durch den Zusammenschluß von Batterien beabsichtigt, außerdem eine Sicherung durch Unterteilung des Hohlkörpers mittels durchbohrter Scheidewände oder Platten. Diese Platten, die annähernd den gleichen Durchmesser wie, die Gaszylinder besitzen, können mit Blättchen oder Membranen nicht gleichgesetzt werden; da sie ungünstig das Flaschengewicht erhöhen. Es wurde auch vorgeschlagen, eine Flasche durch Zusammenziehen der Wände zu verengen. Diese Verengung kann aber praktisch niemals in dem Maß erfolgen, daß nur eine so kleine Öffnung bleibt, die das Ausströmen des Gases wesentlich hemmen würde. Im Gegenteil, gerade durch das Zusammenziehen der Wände entstehen Spannungen in den Übergängen von einer Kammer zur anderen, so daß die Hohlkörper- gefährdeter erscheinen als normale zylindrische Hohlkörper ohne jegliche Sicherheitsvorrichtung.Pressure vessels, the individual chambers of which are connected to one another by narrow openings, are already known.
