In the known electric floor heating in churches, the tubular heating elements are laid in wooden footrests, or flat radiators are used, which themselves serve as footrests. The churchgoer has to place his feet directly on the radiator or the footrest, which leads to discomfort and fatigue over a longer period of time. If the feet are removed from the footrest, the heat generated is no longer used, so that the feet cool down again. In consideration of the visitors, the radiators develop only low surface temperatures of 60 to 100 ° C. As a result, their heat radiation is very low and can no longer be felt at some distance from the radiator. In order to achieve a certain warming of the floor zone, it is therefore necessary to preheat the church before the service with the known pipe heating. This results in high operating costs and causes local air circulation with annoying drafts.
This unsatisfactory church heating is improved according to the invention by
that the radiators arranged directly under the footrests consist of a running over the entire length of the footrests,
Inside chrome-plated housing exist, in the focal point of elongated heating conductors Hegen, so that the radiators as
Radiant heaters work. Such a radiator then not only gives a small part
its warmth from rising air to the footrest, but rather as a result of its reflective
Form, a more significant part of the heat is conducted under the benches as thermal radiation. It arises depending on the shape
and position of the reflector directly above the ground a heat radiation field in which
the feet can be adjusted as desired and yet in every position for well-being
the visitor receives the necessary heat supply.
As an embodiment of the invention in Fig. 1 is the 'arrangement of the radiators
shown under the footrests. Figs. 2 and 3 show different embodiments of the radiator.
The radiant heater consists of an angled or semicircular bent, long housing a, which acts as a reflector and which is chrome-plated on the inside or lined with thin chrome-plated sheet metal, and an elongated heating conductor b, c arranged at the focal point. This can consist of one or two stretched 'wire coils or heating rods, which rest in narrow and over the entire length of the housing α extending insulating pieces and end in terminals. To prevent contact with live parts, the housing is covered in a manner known per se by a widely perforated sheet metal or wire mesh. When using heating rods with a non-current-carrying protective tube (Fig. 2), the cover of the housing can be omitted. The temperature of the heating conductor, which depends on the diameter of the wire or the heating rod, is to be selected so that its radiation extends approximately to the next heating element in the stalls.
