Das Neue besteht darin, daß von den mit dem Schriftsatz zu kopierenden Bildern Negative oder Diapositive hergestellt und diese in den Schriftsatz montiert werden, so daß letzterer zusammen mit den Bildern photographiert werden kann. Dabei werden die Bilder bzw. deren Negative oder Diapositive auf oder über eine Unterlage aus reflektierendem Material gebracht, wobei diese reflektierende Unterlage entsprechend der jeweils nötigen oder gewünschten Helligkeit gewählt wird. Für die photographische Aufnahme wird ein Raster verwendet, um ein fertiges Diapositiv zu erhalten. Alabastergips, die zur Erhöhung ihres Reflexionsvermögens z. B. mit einer phosphoreszierenden Substanz durchsetzt wird, die in ihrer Wirkung also genau ihrem Zwecke angepaßt werden kann, versehen. Auf diese Unterlage werden die Negative oder Diapositive der Bilder auf gleiche Höhe mit der Druckfläche des Schriftsatzes eingesetzt.
