Process for the production of printing surfaces for gravure printing The invention
relates to a method and a layer for the production of printing surfaces for the
Gravure printing. The invention is based on the finding that there is a screenless gravure printing
under the use of. Dust powders can be produced in such a way that they can be etched
Dust powder, which is suitable, the squeegee guide instead of the usual
To take over raster, brings in a layer that consists of a suitable, in itself
known adhesive material, e.g. B. gelatin. The layer that for example
can be applied to paper, becomes photosensitive according to the known pigment process
made, exposed under a slide, after exposure on the printing surface,
z. B. copper plate or copper cylinder, applied, for example squeezed,
developed in warm water and: etched in a known manner. Suitable as a dust powder
in particular those which contain Lycopodium or consist of Lycopodium.
In addition to the property of taking over the squeegee guidance, the dust powder has
still another property of breaking up the picture into grain.
The previously common, dusted and fused onto the printing surface
Asphalt grain could not be used for gravure printing because of its pointed shape
because it offered no resistance to the squeegee guide and after a few rotations
of the cylinder was abraded, while that in the layer according to the invention
enclosed etchable grain due to its upwardly wider surface the squeegee
supports and can lead without fear of the squeegee breaking in.
aufgebrachten, z. B. aufgequetschten, gröberen Korn, beispielsweise Lycopodium,
vereinigt und zusammen ätzt. Therefore, according to a further embodiment of the
Invention of gravure printing an artistic, pronounced engraving-like character
give when you put a on the printing surface, z. B. a cylinder or a retractable one
Copper surface, dusted, fused, finer grain, e.g. B. asphalt grain, rosin
or the like, with that included in the pigment layer and on the printing surface
applied, e.g. B. squeezed, coarser grain, such as Lycopodium,
united and etched together.
This double grain gives excellent drawing after etching
in the highlights as well as rich gradation in the shadows, always the coarser
and open grain, e.g. B. Lycopodium, which was previously in the layer, the doctor blade guide
favored, while the finer powder, e.g. B. Asphalt dust, the gradation of the pressure
promotes and can support the coarser grain during the etching.
