Process for the production of color photographs.

Processes are already known for producing colored photographs by combining two image layers, but these processes have the following essential difference from them.

In the first-mentioned method, a see-through image is used, which bears the full shading, while the paper image used only has the outlines of the photograph, which are then roughly painted over. An extremely light-copied paper image and a normal-copied transparent image are used or combined. The difference between the method described above and the methods mentioned is that a completely
 EMI1.1
is only about a quarter of the normal density.

This very light transparent image is not responsible for producing the shading, as is the case with the other method, it is too light for this, and the shading is already completely present on the colored paper image; the weak transparency of the new process described here is only responsible for bringing about a delicate deepening and refreshment of the shadows on the colored image, which have been somewhat clouded by the glaze color.

The practical difference between the previous method and the new one described here.
 EMI1.2
in the latter case, the careful coloring of the paper picture initially requires a long time; The final result shows, however, that in the earlier method the color is suppressed somewhat by the photographic tone of the normally copied transparent image, while in the new method, in which the colors are only covered by a very light slide, they are much more effective.
