Description
Process for the production of red shades on aluminum and its alloys The main patent describes a method for producing photographic images and the like. on aluminum and its alloys.
According to the invention, red shades, which are particularly heat-resistant, are produced as follows: The oxide layer is impregnated with silver salt. The light-sensitive layer is then exposed directly or under a negative, slide or a stencil. After exposure it is fixed. The silver image is then more or less converted into a gold image by treatment in a gold tone bath of any composition. You can of course also first tone and then fix or work with a clay fixer. After toning, washing and drying the aluminum object is heated strongly with a b e arbitrary heat source. Here the gold layer takes a red one; Tone, the depth of which depends on the exposure time, while the color tone depends on the duration of the treatment in the gold bath. These tones change with increasing gold deposition from brick red to the color of Cassius' gold purple. Example i An aluminum sheet provided with an oxidic layer by anodic treatment in a chromic acid solution is impregnated with a photosensitive silver compound according to the main patent and exposed for 3 minutes in the sun. fixed in fixing saline, rinsed and immersed in a normal gold tone bath for ½ minute. After rinsing with water and drying, the sheet is heated evenly over the entire surface using a tea club burner until the brown color has turned into a light brick red and then cools in the water.
Example 2 An impregnated in the same way as in Example i, Superficially oxidized aluminum sheet is exposed to an arc lamp for 4 minutes exposed under a negative, slide or under a stencil and in the fixed and rinsed in the same way as in example i. Ton in for 3 minutes a gold tone bath and reheated rinsing and drying to 500 up to 600 ° in the induction furnace, whereupon it is advisable to cool in water. The oxidic Layer then appears colored purple-red.
The process described can be used both for the production of uniform colored surfaces as well as for the production of pictures, patterns of all kinds, grains, Characters, etc. are used.
