Description
- Fachgebiet der Erfindung
- Das Gebiet der Erfindung betrifft die Produktion von gereinigten Gasen, insbesondere die nebeneinander ablaufende Produktion von Wasserstoff und Kohlendioxid.
- Hintergrund der Erfindung
- Komplexe Mischungen von Gasen wie beispielsweise Raffineriegasen oder Abgasen aus Verbrennungsprozessen werden häufig als Startmaterialien bei der Produktion gereinigter Gase verwendet, und es wurden diverse Systeme entwickelt, um zumindest zwei oder mehr Gase bei einer relativ hohen Reinheit (d. h. mehr als 90% (v/v)) von einer Einzelgasmischung nebeneinander ablaufend zu isolieren.
- Einige Systeme wenden eine Reihen-Konfiguration von PSA-Einheiten an, wobei eine erste PSA-Einheit eine von einer zweiten PSA-Einheit verschiedene Selektivität aufweist, und wobei das Abgas von der ersten Einheit direkt zu dem Zufuhrende der zweiten PSA-Einheit gelenkt wird. Ein Beispiel für diese Konfiguration ist von R. Kumar im US-Patent 4,913,709 beschrieben. Kumar's Reihen-Konfiguration von PSA-Einheiten mit Betten, welche nicht identische Adsorptionsspezifität aufweisen, ist in solchen Fällen günstig, wo relative hohe Volumina von Abgasen zur gleichen Zeit zu reinigen sind. Allerdings nimmt im Allgemeinen die Komplexität und Anzahl koordinierter Zyklusschritte aufgrund der voneinander verschiedenen biochemischen Eigenschaften der Adsorptionsbetten ab, wodurch nachteilig die Kosten und die Wartungsanforderungen vergrößert werden.
- Andere Systeme verwenden Konfigurationen mit einer PSA-Einheit und einer Nicht-PSA-Einheit, wie beispielsweise im US-Patent Nr. 4,553,981 von Fuderer beschrieben ist. In Fuderer's System wird Kohlendioxid als Abgas von einem Speisegasstrom mittels eines CO2-Gaswäschers („scrubber") entfernt, und der CO2-abgereicherte Strom wird nachfolgend in eine H2-PSA-Einheit eingespeist. Das H2-PSA-Abgas wird dann über eine Abgasleitung in die Atmosphäre abgelassen oder zu einer Konverter- oder Verschiebungseinheit zurückgeführt. Während sie nebeneinander ablaufend H2 und CO2 von dem Speisegas abscheidet, kann Fuderer's Konfiguration vorteilhaft eingesetzt werden, um einen unerwünschten Aufbau von Stickstoff und/oder Argon in den Abgasen von dem Gaswäscher und der Hz-PSA-Einheit mittels Rückführung der Abgase zu dem Reformer oder dem Schiebekonverter zu reduzieren. Allerdings bleiben beträchtliche Mengen von Kohlendioxid und Wasserstoff in dem Ruckführungskreislauf übrig und werden typischerweise abgelassen oder verbrannt, so dass sie für die Rückgewinnung nicht mehr zugänglich sind. Noch andere Systeme wenden selektive Membranen an, um eine gewünschte Gaskomponente von dem Abgas einer PSA-Einheit zu separieren. Beispielsweise beschreibt G. Intille im U.S. Patent Nr. 4,229,188 die Verwendung von wasserstoffdurchlässigen Membranen, um H2 von dem Abgas einer PSA-Einheit zurückzugewinnen. Intillels Membranen entfernen vorteilhaft H2 mit hoher Selektivität in einem einzigen Prozessschritt, wobei allerdings die Verwendung solcher Membranen im allgemeinen relativ hohen Druck erfordert, wodurch der Gesamtenergiebedarf erhöht wird. Um zumindest einige der mit den wasserstoffdurchlässigen Membranen einhergehenden Probleme zu vermeiden, lehrt Anand et al. im US-Patent Nr. 5,435,836 die Verwendung einer adsorbierenden Membran. Adsorbierende Membranen ermöglichen typischerweise die Wasserstoffrückgewinnung bei vergleichsweise niedrigem Druck mit relativ hoher Spezifität. Der Vorteil des relativ niedrigen Druckes tendiert jedoch dazu, durch die Notwendigkeit eines Membranaustauschs, wodurch entweder die Komplexität der Wasserstoffanlage vergrößert oder ein diskontinuierlicher Betrieb erforderlich wird, aufgewogen zu werden.
- Folglich weisen, obwohl diverse Systeme zur nebeneinander ablaufenden Produktion gewünschter Gase aus Gasmischungen im Stand der Technik bekannt sind, alle oder fast alle von diesen einen oder mehrere Nachteile auf. Daher besteht ein Bedarf, verbesserte Verfahren und eine verbesserte Vorrichtung zur nebeneinander ablaufenden Produktion gewünschter Gase aus Gasmischungen bereitzustellen.
- Zusammenfassung der Erfindung
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Gasproduktionsanlage, welche eine Gasquelle, einen ersten und einen zweiten Separator und eine Verflüssigungseinheit aufweist. Der erste Separator empfängt Speisegas von der Gasquelle und produziert einen ersten Abgasstrom und einen Produktstrom, wohingegen der zweite Separator den ersten Abgasstrom empfängt, um einen zweiten Abgasstrom und einen zweiten Produktstrom zu produzieren. Die Verflüssigungseinheit empfängt den ersten Produktstrom und den zweiten Abgasstrom, wodurch ein verflüssigter dritter Produktstrom und ein dritter Abgasstrom produziert werden, und zumindest ein Teil des dritten Abgasstroms wird mit dem ersten Abgasstrom kombiniert.
- In einem Aspekt des erfindungsgemäßen Gegenstandes liefert die Gasquelle ein vorwiegend Wasserstoff und Kohlendioxid aufweisendes Speisegas, welches aus natürlichem Gas Über einem Dampfreformerprozess produziert wird. Während der erste Separator vorzugsweise einen CO2-Gaswäscher aufweist, weist der zweite Separator eine Wasserstoff-Druckwechseladsorptions-(PSA)-Einheit auf, und die Verflüssigungseinheit weist in einem besonders bevorzugten Aspekt eine Autokühleinheit auf.
- In einem weiteren Aspekt des erfindungsgemässen Gegenstandes, verwendet eine Methode zum Entfernen einer ersten gasförmigen Komponente und einer zweiten gasförmigen Komponente aus einem Speisegas eine PSA-Einheit, welche einen ersten Produktstrom erzeugt, der vorwiegend die zweite gasförmige Komponente aufweist, und einen ersten Abgasstrom, der vorwiegend die erste gasförmige Komponente und die zweite gasförmige Komponente aufweist. Zumindest ein Teil des Abgasstromes ist in eine Verflüssigungseinheit geführt, welche einen zweiten Produktstrom und einen zweiten Abgasstrom erzeugt, wobei zumindest ein Teil des zweiten Abgasstroms in die PSA-Einheit rezykliert wird.
- Diverse Gegenstände, Merkmale, Aspekte und Vorteile der vorliegenden Erfindung werden aus der nachfolgenden detaillierten Beschreibung bevorzugter Ausführungsformen der Erfindung gemeinsam mit den beigefügten Abbildungen deutlicher.

- So wie er hier verwendet wird, bezieht sich der Begriff „Nutzgas" auf ein Gas, das in einem Prozess, ausgenommen ein Ablassen in die Atmosphäre, verwendet wird, und bevorzugte Prozesse weisen die Verbrennung in einem Dampfreformer oder einer Gasturbine, Expansion oder Kompression, und Erhitzen/Kühlen in einer Wärmetauschervorrichtung auf.
- So wie er hier verwendet wird, bezieht sich der Begriff „Autokühlsystem" auf eine Vorrichtung, die hochreines flüssiges CO2 unter Verwendung von CO2 als Kühlmittel produziert. Ein besonders in Betracht gezogenes Kühlsystem ist beschrieben in WO-99/35455A.
- Wie sie außerdem verwendet werden, betreffen sowohl der Begriff ,H2-PSA-Einheit' als auch „Wasserstoff-PSA-Einheit" eine PSA-Einheit, die konfiguriert ist, um einen Produktgasstrom herzustellen, der vorwiegend Wasserstoff aufweist. In ähnlicher Weise bezieht sich eine „CO2-PSA-Einheit" und eine „Kohlendioxid-PSA-Einheit" auf eine PSA-Einheit, die konfiguriert ist, um einen Produktgasstrom zu produzieren, der vorwiegend Kohlendioxid aufweist, wobei der Begriff „vorwiegend aufweist" bedeutet, dass der Produktgasstrom wenigstens 50% des Kohlendioxids, Wasserstoffs oder einer anderen in einem Produkt vorwiegend vorhandenen Komponente aufweist.
- Gemäß
1 weist eine Anlage100 im Allgemeinen eine Gasquelle110 auf, in der ein Strom eines Quellengases112 in einem Reformer114 reformiert wird und über eine Transferleitung116 zu einem Konverter118 übertragen wird, in welchem das reformierte Quellgas umgewandelt wird, um einen Speisegasstrom120 hervorzubringen. Ein erster Separator130 entfernt eine erste gasförmige Komponente aus dem Speisegas, um einen ersten Produktstrom134 und einen ersten Abgasstrom132 zu produzieren. Der erste Abgasstrom132 wird in einen zweiten Separator140 eingespeist, um einen zweiten Produktstrom142 und einen zweiten Abgasstrom144 zu produzieren. Sowohl der zweite Abgasstrom144 als auch der erste Produktstrom134 werden in eine Verflüssigungseinheit150 eingespeist, und ein dritter Produktstrom154 entfernt verflüssigtes Produkt aus der Verflüssigungseinheit. Ein erster Anteil152A eines dritten Abgasstroms, welcher die Verflüssigungseinheit verlasst, wird mit dem ersten Abgasstrom132 kombiniert, und ein zweiter Anteil152B des dritten Abgasstroms wird in dem Reformerbrenner verbrannt. Gemäß einem bevorzugten Aspekt des erfindungsgemäßen Gegenstandes ist eine Produktionsanlage eine Anlage zur gemeinsamen Produktion von Wasserstoff und Kohlendioxid, wobei die erste gasförmige Komponente Kohlendioxid ist und die zweite gasförmige Komponente Wasserstoff ist. Die Gasquelle weist einen Dampfreformer und einen Schiebekonverter zum Umwandeln eines Stroms von natürlichem Gas, welches vorwiegend CH4 aufweist, in einen Speisegasstrom, welcher vorwiegend CO2 und H2 aufweist, auf. Der erste Separator ist ein CO2-Gaswäscher in Kombination mit einer Entspannungseinheit („flash unit") und einem Separationstank, welcher einen ersten Anteil von CO2 aus dem Speisegas entfernt, wodurch ein erster Produktstrom mit einer CO2-Konzentration von mehr als 80 mol% und ein erster Abgasstrom, welcher in eine Wasserstoff-PSA-Einheit eingespeist wird, produziert werden. Der zweite Separator ist eine Wasserstoff-PSA-Einheit, welche einen zweiten Produktstrom, der H2 mit einer Reinheit von mehr als 99 mol% aufweist, und einen zweiten Abgasstrom, der wenigstens 20 mol% H2 und mehr als 70 mol% CO2 aufweist, produziert. Sowohl der erste Produktstrom134 als auch der zweite Abgasstrom144 werden in die Autokühleinheit150 eingespeist, welche einen dritten Produktstrom154 produziert, der CO2 mit einer Reinheit von mehr als 98 mol% aufweist. Ungefähr 70% (in Vol.) des dritten Abgasstroms (d. h. ein erster Anteil des dritten Abgasstroms) wird dem ersten Abgasstrom zugemischt, während etwa 30% (in Vol.) zu dem Dampfreformerbrenner übertragen werden (d. h. ein zweiter Anteil des dritten Abgasstroms). - Bezüglich der Konfiguration der Verflüssigungseinheit ist besonders zu beachten, dass erhöhte Raten der CO2- und H2-Rückgewinnung erreicht werden, indem (a) das H2-PSA-Abgas der Autokühleinheit zugeführt wird und (b) das Autokühleinheit-Abgas gleichlaufend in die H2-PSA zurückgeführt wird. Beispielsweise wird CO2, welches aus dem Speisegasstrom in dem ersten Separator nicht entfernt wurde, gemeinsam mit H2 in die Autokühleinheit über den zweiten Abgasstrom von der H2-PSA-Einheit eingespeist. Das CO2 in dem zweiten Abgasstrom wird kryogenisch aus dem zweiten Abgasstrom in der Autokuhleinheit zurückgewonnen, wodurch die Autokühleinheit zu einem sekundären Separator wird. Das H2 in dem zweiten Abgasstrom durchläuft die Autokühleinheit, und mittels Rückspeisung wenigstens eines Teils des dritten Abgasstroms zu der H2-PSA-Einheit wird H2 aus dem zweiten Abgasstrom zu der H2-PSA-Einheit rückgeführt und nachfolgend mittels dieser rückgewonnen.
- Es ist auch besonders zu beachten, dass in alternativen Aspekten des erfindungsgemäßen Gegenstandes die Gasquelle nicht auf eine Gasquelle beschränkt ist, die einen Dampfreformer und einen Schiebekonverter aufweist, sondern diverse andere Komponenten aufweisen kann, deren Auswahl hauptsächlich von dem gewünschten Gas abhängt. Beispielsweise können dort, wo Wasserstoffproduktion besonders erwünscht ist, geeignete Gasquellen Komponenten zur partiellen Oxidation diverser Kohlenwasserstoffe oder zur Kohlevergasung aufweisen. Andererseits muss die Gasquelle nicht auf eine Quelle beschränkt sein, die vorwiegend Wasserstoff produziert und kann Quellen aufweisen, die N2, CO2, CO, He, Ar etc. produzieren. Es wird ferner in Betracht gezogen, dass dort, wo relativ reine Gase Nebenprodukte eines industriellen Prozesses sind, geeignete Gasquellen auch Elemente aufweisen können, die statt zur Gasproduktion zur Gasreinigung verwendet werden, beispielsweise PSA-Einheiten, Absorber-Einheiten, Destillationskolonnen, Sauergasentfernungseinheiten etc. Infolgedessen muss der Speisegasstrom nicht auf eine Gasmischung beschränkt sein, die vorwiegend H2 und CO2 aufweist. Alternative Speisegasströme werden in Erwägung gezogen, die Gasmischungen aufweisen, welche C2-C6-Kohlenwasserstoffe, und höher, aufweisen, welche aliphatische, inerte Gase wie beispielsweise N2, He, Ar, oder vorbehandelte Gasmischungen, die von einer oder mehreren Komponenten angereichert oder abgereichert wurden, sein können, oder auch nicht. Beispielsweise können in Betracht gezogene Speisegasströme ein ausströmendes Gas aus einem Dampfreformerprozess, einem Partialoxidationsprozess, einem Abstreifprozess, einer Verbrennung oder einem Kohlevergasungsprozess aufweisen.
- Bezüglich des ersten Separators ist es bevorzugt, dass geeignete erste Separatoren eine Sauergasentfernungseinheit aufweisen, und besonderes in Betracht gezogene Gasentfernungseinheiten wenden ein Lösungsmittel an, welches wenigstens einen Teil der ersten gasförmigen Komponente entfernt. Abhängig von der speziellen gasförmigen Komponente und der Konfiguration des Separators kann das Lösungsmittel physikalische und chemische Lösungsmittel aufweisen, und bevorzugte Lösungsmittel sind Monoethanolamin, aktiviertes Methyl-Diethanolamin, Propylenglycol und Glykoldirnethylether. Obwohl bevorzugte erste Separatoren einen CO2-Gaswäscher in Kombination mit einer Entspannungseinheit und einem Separationstank aufweisen, kommen diverse alternative Separatoren ebenfalls in Betracht. Beispielsweise können dort, wo relativ geringe Volumina von Speisegasen verarbeitet werden, alternative erste Separatoren selektive Membranen aufweisen. In anderen Fällen, wo Speisegas von einem kryogenen Prozess abgeleitet wird, kann ein Destillationsapparat als der erste Separator verwendet werden, und für Prozesse, wo eine Rückgewinnung einer gasförmigen Komponente in hoher Reinheit (z. B. mehr als 99% (v/v)) erwünscht ist, kann eine Druckwechseladsorptionseinheit als erster Separator verwendet werden. In ähnlicher Weise muss der zweite Separator nicht auf eine Wasserstoff-PSA-Einheit beschränkt sein, und alternative zweite Separatoren können eine CO2-PSA-Einheit, eine selektive Membran, einen Destillationsapparat etc. aufweisen, solange alternative zweite Separatoren mit einem ersten Separator in fluidleitender Verbindung stehen und wenigstens einen Teil des ersten Abgasstroms empfangen.
- Obwohl eine bevorzugte Verflüssigungseinheit eine Kohlendioxidautokühleinheit ist, kommen auch alternative Verflüssigungseinheiten in Betracht, welche Verflüssigungseinheiten mit Prozessen aufweisen, die ein externes Kühlmittel wie beispielsweise Ammoniak, Fluorkohlenwasserstoffe oder Fluorchlorkohlenwasserstoffe benötigen. Das verflüssigte CO2, welches aus der Autokühleinheit erhalten wurde, weist vorzugsweise eine Reinheit von mehr als 98% (v/v), noch bevorzugter mehr als 99% (v/v) und am meisten bevorzugt von mehr als 99,9% (v/v) auf. Bezüglich der Menge/Fraktion des dritten Abgasstromes, der dem ersten Abgasstrom zugemischt wird, kommt es in Betracht, dass während etwa 70% (in Vol.) bevorzugt sind, viele andere Mengen/Fraktionen ebenfalls geeignet sind, solange wenigstens ein Teil des dritten Abgasstroms zu dem zweiten Separator zurückgeführt wird. Im Allgemeinen reichen in Betracht kommende Mengen/Fraktionen von 0,1% bis 100%, und bevorzugtere Mengen/Fraktionen von 40% bis 80%. Beispielsweise können dort, wo der dritte Abgasstrom nur geringe Mengen an Wasserstoff aufweist und der zweite Separator eine H2-PSA-Einheit ist, Mengen von etwa 5–25% zu dem ersten Abgasstrom rückgeführt werden. Andererseits wird während des Normalbetriebs einer H2-PSA-Einheit der zweite Abgasstrom etwa 20% (v/v) Wasserstoff aufweisen, welche nahezu vollständig rückgewonnen werden können, indem 70–90% (v/v) oder mehr des dritten Abgasstroms zu dem ersten Abgasstrom rückgeführt wird. Noch weiter sollte beachtet werden, dass das Zumischen des ersten Anteils des dritten Abgasstroms zu dem ersten Abgasstrom ein kontinuierlicher Prozess oder ein diskontinuierlicher Prozess sein kann. Beispielsweise können in einigen Fällen 80% des dritten Abgasstroms dem ersten Abgasstrom kontinuierlich zugemischt werden, wahrend in anderen Fällen 100% des dritten Abgasstroms dem ersten Abgasstrom für 50 Sekunden in einem 60 Sekunden Intervall zugemischt werden können.
- In ähnlicher Weise kann sich die Menge/Fraktion des zweiten Anteils des dritten Abgasstroms von der bevorzugten Menge/Fraktion unterscheiden und hängt typischerweise von der Menge/Fraktion des ersten Anteils des dritten Abgasstromes ab. Bezüglich der Verwendung des zweiten Anteils des dritten Abgasstroms kommt in Betracht, dass diverse andere Verwendungen als eine Verbrennung in einem Dampfreformerbrenner ebenfalls geeignet sind, solange der zweite Anteil des dritten Abgasstromes als ein Nutzgas verwendet wird. Beispielsweise könnte dort, wo der zweite Anteil des dritten Abgasstroms eine relativ niedrige Temperatur aufweist, der zweite Anteil als Kühlmittel verwendet werden, oder der zweite Anteil könnte dort, wo die Menge an brennbaren Komponenten (z. B. Methan) relativ groß ist, in einer Gasturbine verbrannt werden. Es sollte besonders beachtet werden, dass aufgrund der Konfiguration des ersten und des zweiten Separators in Kooperation mit der Verflüssigungseinheit die Konzentration der ersten und der zweiten gasförmigen Komponente vorzugsweise weniger als 10% (v/v), bevorzugter weniger als 1% (v/v) und am meisten bevorzugt weniger als 0,1% (v/v) beträgt.

100 ), mit: einer Gasquelle, welche einen Speisegasstrom (120 ) liefert, der eine erste gasförmige Komponente und eine zweite gasförmige Komponente aufweist; einem mit der Gasquelle in fluidleitender Verbindung stehenden ersten Separator (130 ), wobei der erste Separator wenigstens einen Teil der ersten gasförmigen Komponente aus dem Speisegasstrom entfernt, wodurch ein erster Abgasstrom (132 ) und ein erster Produktstrom (134 ), der vorwiegend die erste gasförmige Komponente aufweist, produziert werden; einem mit dem ersten Separator (130 ) in fluidleitender Verbindung stehenden zweiten Separator (140 ), wobei der zweite Separator wenigstens einen Teil der zweiten gasförmigen Komponente von dem ersten Abgasstrom (132 ) entfernt, wodurch ein zweiter Abgasstrom (144 ) und ein zweiter Produktstrom (142 ), welcher vorwiegend die zweite gasförmige Komponente aufweist, erzeugt werden; einer mit dem ersten und dem zweiten Separator in fluidleitender Verbindung stehenden Verflüssigungseinheit (150 ), wobei die Verflüssigungseinheit wenigstens einen Teil des ersten Produktstroms (134 ) und wenigstens einen Teil des zweiten Abgasstroms (144 ) empfängt, um einen dritten Produktstrom (154 ) zu produzieren, der überwiegend die verflüssigte erste gasförmige Komponente aufweist; und wobei die Verflüssigungseinheit einen dritten Abgasstrom produziert, von dem ein erster Anteil (152A ) mit dem ersten Abgasstrom (132 ) kombiniert wird, und von dem ein zweiter Anteil (152B ) als Nutzgas verwendet wird. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Speisegasstrom (
120 ) ein ausströmendes Gas von einem Dampfreformerprozess aufweist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Speisegasstrom (
120 ) ein ausströmendes Gas von einem der Prozesse Partialoxidationsprozess und Kohlevergasungsprozess aufweist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei die erste gasförmige Komponente Kohlendioxid ist.
- Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei die zweite gasförmige Komponente Wasserstoff ist.
- Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei der erste Separator (
130 ) eine Sauergasentfernungseinheit ist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 6, wobei die Sauergasentfernungseinheit ein Lösungsmittel verwendet, welches wenigstens einen Teil der ersten gasförmigen Komponente entfernt.
- Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 7, wobei das Lösungsmittel aus der Gruppe ausgewählt wird, die aus Monoethanolamin, einem aktivierten Methyldiethanolamin, einem Propylenglykol und einem Glykoldimethylether besteht.
- Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei der zweite Separator (
140 ) eine Druckwechseladsorptionseinheit aufweist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 9, wobei die Druckwechseladsorptionseinheit eine Wasserstoff-Druckwechseladsorptionseinheit ist.
- Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Verflüssigungseinheit (
150 ) eine Kohlendioxidautokühleinheit ist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Verwendung des zweiten Anteils (
152B ) des dritten Abgasstroms als Nutzgas eine Verbrennung in einem Reformerbrenner aufweist. - Produktionsanlage nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Verwendung des zweiten Anteils (
152B ) des dritten Abgasstroms als Nutzgas eine Verbrennung in einer Gasturbine aufweist.
