Description
- Gebiet der Erfindung
- Diese Erfindung bezieht sich auf Packungslösungen für die Verwendung mit Kontaktlinsen. Insbesondere stellt die Erfindung Packungslösungen für die Verwendung mit Kontaktlinsen, die aus hydrophoben Materialien hergestellt, sind zur Verfügung.
- Hintergrund der Erfindung
- Die Verwendung von Kontaktlinsen für die Korrektur von Erkrankungen der okularen Brechung ist weit verbreitet, zum Teil aufgrund des kosmetischen Anreizes von Kontaktlinsen. Bevorzugterweise sind Kontaktlinsen aus Materialien mit hohen Sauerstoff-Permeabilitäten oder Sauerstoff-Permeabilitäten von ungefähr 10 Dk oder größer hergestellt. Mit der zunehmenden Sauerstoff-Permeabilität eines Materials wird jedoch typischerweise das Material auch hydrophober.
- Wenn eine Kontaktlinse, die aus hydrophoben Material hergestellt ist, mit einem anderen hydrophoben Material in Kontakt kommt, haftet die Linsenoberfläche an die Material-Oberfläche an. Das ist problematisch in der Verpackung von Linsen, da typischerweise Kontaktlinsen-Verpackungsmaterialien hydrophob sind. Daher kann die Kontaktlinse an die Verpackungsmaterialien anhaften, was zu Linsendeformierung oder Bruch führt.
- Das Dokument WO-A-98-55155 beschreibt Lösungen für die Verpackung von Kontaktlinsen umfassend eine Polyoxyalkylen-Kette in einer Menge von 50 ppm bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, um die Augen-Benetzbarkeit von hydrophilen Kontaktlinsen zu verbessern.
- Beschreibung der Erfindung und bevorzugte Ausführungsformen
- Die Erfindung stellt eine Verpackungslösung für Kontaktlinsen, die aus hydrophoben Materialien hergestellt sind, gemäß Anspruch 1, 4 und eine Methode gemäß den Ansprüchen 9 und 12 zur Verfügung. Insbesondere stellt die Erfindung eine Verpackungslösung für Kontaktlin sen, die aus hydrophoben Materialien hergestellt sind, zur Verfügung, die im wesentlichen das Anhaften der Linse an die Verpackungsoberflächen verhindert.
- In einer Ausführungsform stellt die Erfindung eine Kontaktlinsen-Verpackungslösung zur Verfügung, umfassend, bestehend im wesentlichen aus, und bestehend aus zwischen ungefähr 0,1 und ungefähr 250 ppm eines Oberflächen-aktiven Mittels, bevorzugterweise 0,1 bis ungefähr 40 ppm, weiter bevorzugt ungefähr 1 bis ungefähr 40 ppm, worin der Oberflächen-aktive Stoff ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht von ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 30 aufweist. Es ist eine unerwartete Entdeckung der Erfindung, daß die Verwendung von sehr kleinen Mengen eines bestimmten Oberflächen-aktiven Stoffes in einer Linsenverpackungslösung das Anhaften von hydrophoben Linsen an die Verpackungsoberflächen im wesentlichen verhindert, das Zerbrechen oder die Deformation der Linse in der Verpackung im wesentlichen eliminierend.
- Für die Zwecke der Erfindung ist eine "hydrophobe Linse" eine Linse, die aus mindestens einem hydrophoben Monomer hergestellt ist. Die Verpackungslösungen der Erfindung können besonderen Nutzen finden, wenn sie für die Lagerung von nicht-ionischen Linsen angewendet werden. Linsen für die Verwendung mit den Lösungen der Erfindung können hergestellt sein aus Acquafilcon, Alphafilcon, Atlafilcon, Etafilcon, Bulifilcon, Lenefilcon, Lidifilcon, Lotrafilcon, Methafilcon, Ocufilcon, Perfilcon, Phemfilcon, Vilifilcon, Saufon, Hydron und ähnlichem und Kombinationen davon. Bevorzugterweise ist die Linse eine Acquafilcon- oder Lenefilcon-Linse.
- Die Oberflächen-aktiven Stoffe, die für die Verwendung in der Erfindung nützlich sind, sind von jedem geeigneten Molekulargewicht, bevorzugterweise ungefähr 200 bis ungefähr 1.000.000, weiter bevorzugt ungefähr 10.000 bis ungefähr 18.000, am meisten bevorzugt ungefähr 12.000 bis ungefähr 18.000. Nützliche Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe haben ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht ("HLB") von ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 30, bevorzugterweise ungefähr 15 bis ungefähr 25, weiter bevorzugt ungefähr 18 bis ungefähr 23.
- Jeder der bekannten Oberflächen-aktiven Stoffe, welcher die zuvor erwähnten Kriterien erfüllt, kann in der Lösung der Erfindung, unter der Voraussetzung verwendet werden, daß der Oberflächen-aktive Stoff kompatibel bezüglich der Löslichkeit mit der Lösung ist, mit welcher er verwendet wird. Daher beinhalten geeignete Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe, ohne Limitation, kationische, ionische, nicht-ionische Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe und Kombinationen da von. Jedoch kann die Verwendung von Linsenverpackungslösungen, die kationische und ionische Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe beinhalten, Augenreizung verursachen. Daher ist der Oberflächenaktive Stoff bevorzugterweise ein nicht-ionischer Oberflächen-aktiver Stoff.
- Geeignete nicht-ionische Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe für die Verwendung in der Erfindung beinhalten, ohne Limitation, Polyethylenglycolester von Fettsäuren, wie zum Beispiel Polysorbat 20, 60 oder 80, alle erhältlich als TWEEN®-Surfaktanten, Alkanolamide, Aminoxide, ethoxylierte Alkohole und Säuren und Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe, die eine oder mehrere Poly(oxyalkylen)-Ketten haben, wie zum Beispiel Poloxamin oder Poloxamer Oberflächenaktive Stoffe und ähnliches und Kombinationen davon. Bevorzugterweise ist der Oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Polysorbat oder Poloxamer Oberflächen-aktiver Stoff. Poloxamer Oberflächenaktive Stoffe sind kommerziell unter dem Namen PLURONIC® erhältlich, welches Polyoxyethylen-Polyoxypropylen nicht-ionische Oberflächen-aktive Stoffe sind, die hydrophile Polyoxyethyl-Gruppenenden haben, die ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 80 Gew.-% des Moleküls ausmachen. Obwohl einige der PLURONIC® Oberflächen-aktiven Stoffe bevorzugt sind, ist PLURONIC® 127, welches ungefähr 70 Gew.-% Ethylenoxid ist und ein Molekulargewicht von ungefähr 12.000 bis ungefähr 150.000 aufweist, insbesondere bevorzugt für die Verwendung in der Erfindung.
- Der Oberflächen-aktive Stoff kann mit jeder bekannten aktiven oder Trägerkomponente kombiniert werden, die für Linsen-Verpackungslösungen nützlich ist. Geeignete aktive Bestandteile für Linsen-Verpackungslösungen beinhalten, ohne Limitation, antibakterielle Mittel, anti-Trockenheit-Mittel, wie zum Beispiel Polyvinylalkohol, Polyvinylpyrrolidon und Dextran, Tonizitätsmittel und ähnliches und Kombinationen davon.
- Die Verpackungslösung kann jede Wasser-basierende Lösung sein, die für die Lagerung von Kontaktlinsen verwendet wird. Typische Lösungen beinhalten, ohne Limitation, Saline-Lösungen, andere gepufferte Lösungen und deionisiertes Wasser. Die bevorzugte wässrige Lösung ist Saline-Lösung beinhaltend Salze einschließlich, ohne Limitation, Natriumchlorid, Natriumborat, Natriumphosphat, Natriumhydrogenphosphat, Natriumdihydrogenphosphat oder die korrespondierenden Kaliumsalze der Gleichen. Diese Inhaltsstoffe werden normalerweise kombiniert, um gepufferte Lösungen zu bilden, die eine Säure und ihre konjugierende Base beinhalten, so daß die Addition von Säuren und Basen nur eine relativ kleine Veränderung im pH verursachen. Die gepufferten Lösungen können zusätzlich beinhalten 2-(N- Morpholino)-ethansulfonsäure (MES), Natriumhydroxid, 2,2-bis(Hydroxymethyl)-2,2',2''-nitrilotriethanol, n-tris-(Hydroxymethyl)methyl-2-aminoethansulfonsäure, Zitronensäure, Natriumzitrat, Natriumcarbonat, Natriumbicarbonat, Essigsäure, Natriumacetat und ähnliches und Kombinationen davon. Bevorzugterweise ist die Lösung eine Borat-gepufferte oder Phosphat-gepufferte Saline-Lösung.
- Um die Verpackungslösung zu bilden, wird der Oberflächen-aktive Stoff zusammen mit jedem zusätzlichen Bestandteil mit der Wasser-basierenden Lösung vereinigt, gerührt und gelöst. Der pH der Lösung wird bevorzugterweise auf ungefähr 6,7 bis ungefähr 7,5 eingestellt. Die Linse, die in der Verpackungslösung der Erfindung gelagert werden soll, wird in die Lösung eingetaucht und die Lösung und die Linse werden in die Verpackung, in welcher die Linse gelagert werden soll, gegeben.
- Alternativ kann die Lösung in die Verpackung und die Linse danach in die Lösung gegeben werden. Typischerweise wird die Verpackung danach durch eine herkömmliche Methode versiegelt, wie zum Beispiel durch Hitzeversiegeln, und unterläuft eine geeignet Sterilisationsprozedur.
Claims (16)
- Artikel umfassend eine sterile Linsenpackung, umfassend innerhalb besagter Packung eine hydrophobe Linse, eingetaucht in Kontaktlinsenpackungslösung, umfassend ungefähr 0,1 und ungefähr 40 ppm eines oberflächenaktiven Stoffes ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus einem Polyethylenglycolester einer Fettsäure, einem Alkanolamid, einem Aminoxid, einem ethoxylierten Alkohol, einer ethoxylierten Säure und Kombinationen davon, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht von ungefähr 10 bis 30 aufweist.
- Artikel nach Anspruch 1, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Polyethylenglycolester einer Fettsäure ist.
- Artikel nach Anspruch 1, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Polysorbat ist.
- Kontaktlinsenpackungslösung, umfassend ungefähr 0,1 bis ungefähr 40 ppm eines oberflächenaktives Stoffes, der eine oder mehrere Poly(oxyalkylen)-Ketten aufweist, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht von ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 30 aufweist.
- Lösung nach Anspruch 4, wobei der nicht-ionische oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxamin-oberflächenaktiver Stoff, Polaxomer-oberflächenaktiver Stoff oder eine Kombination davon ist.
- Lösung nach Anspruch 4, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxamer-oberflächenaktiver Stoff ist.
- Lösung nach Anspruch 6, wobei der Poloxamer-oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxyethylenpolyoxypropylen nicht-ionischer oberflächenaktiver Stoff ist, der hydrophile Polyoxyethyl-Gruppenenden aufweist, die ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 80 Gewichtsprozent des Moleküls ausmachen.
- Lösung nach Anspruch 7, wobei der nicht-ionische oberflächenaktive Stoff zu ungefähr 70 Gewichtsprozent Ethylenoxid ist und ein Molekulargewicht von ungefähr 12.000 bis ungefähr 150.000 hat.
- Verfahren, umfassend die Schritte des Eintauchens einer hydrophoben Kontaktlinse in eine Packungslösung, umfassend ungefähr 0,1 und 40 ppm eines oberflächenaktiven Stoffes ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus einem Polyethylenglycolester einer Fettsäure, einem Alkanolamid, einem Aminoxid, einem ethoxylierten Alkohol, einer ethoxylierten Säure und Kombinationen davon, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht von ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 30 aufweist, Plazieren besagter Linsen und Lösung in eine Linsenpackung, Versiegeln und Sterilisieren besagter Packung.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Polyethylenglycolester einer Fettsäure ist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Polysorbat ist.
- Verfahren zur Lagerung von hydrophoben Kontaktlinsen, umfassend den Schritt des Eintauchens der Linse zur Lagerung in eine Packungslösung, umfassend ungefähr 0,1 bis ungefähr 40 ppm eines oberflächenaktiven Stoffes, der eine oder mehrere Poly(oxyalkylen)-Ketten aufweist, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Hydrophil-Lipophil-Gleichgewicht von ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 30 aufweist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxamin-oberflächenaktiver Stoff, ein Poloxamer-oberflächenaktiver Stoff oder eine Kombination davon ist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxamer-oberflächenaktiver Stoff ist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 14, wobei der Poloxamer-oberflächenaktive Stoff ein Poloxyethylenpolyoxypropylen nicht-ionischer oberflächenaktiver Stoff ist, der hydro phile Polyoxyethyl-Gruppenenden aufweist, die ungefähr 10 bis ungefähr 80 Gewichtsprozent des Moleküls ausmachen.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 15, wobei der oberflächenaktive Stoff zu ungefähr 70 Gewichtsprozent Ethylenoxid ist und ein Molekulargewicht von ungefähr 12.000 bis ungefähr 150.000 hat.
