Abstract
In a method for roughening road surfaces in which roughening elements are moved along the road surface and periodically subjected to force, the roughening elements are pressed into the road surface by means of pulsating forces which are absorbed by a large mass lying above, and are at the same time moved in translational motion parallel to the road surface. In a device for implementing the method, each roughening element (W) is held on a carrier (3) on which it can be moved up and down. The carrier (3) is fastened to a frame (2) which is situated above it and which represents a large mass (M). Between the roughening elements (W) and the frame (2) are arranged a plurality of downward acting, preferably hydraulic, drives (P) by means of which the roughening elements (W) lying on the road surface are pressed into said surface. <IMAGE>
