Abstract

10,320. Fliege, J. April 30. Dressing; stone cutting and working apparatus combined with grinding-machines. - A machine for roughing stone pavements comprises a wheeled platform carrying a number of exchangeable chisels, to which a quick up-anddown motion is imparted by mechanism driven from a motor carried by the platform. Cylindrical hammers b, one for each chisel, are arranged to move in casings a, a lateral projection c on each hammer moving in a slot s in the casing. Each projection c carries a roller d, engaged by the arms c of a star-wheel mounted on a shaft f, which is driven by gearing from a motor t. The rollers d are raised by the arms e, and the hammers b fall by their own weight assisted by adjustable springs i. The hammers strike bolts l, which carry the chisels n. The bolts l are raised by springs q, and are carried by a detachable lower frame p. The grindstone u is for sharpening the chisels. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1840/72, 18,843/90, and 19,298/91, [both in Class 107, Roads &c.], 24,781/93, 16,158/01, [Class 107, Roads &c.], 25,772/06, [Class 82, Metals and alloys], and 26,274/06, [Class 107, Roads &c.].
