Abstract

According to a method of controlling the supply of combustion air to combustion of a fuel-gas/combustion air mixture, which serves to heat a flowing fluid medium, in particular water, the combustion air throughput is controlled depending on the throughput of the medium to be heated. A device which is suitable for carrying out this method comprises a heat exchanger (8) fed via a water supply pipe (9), and a gas burner (1) which is assigned to this heat exchanger (8) and to which combustion air is supplied via a combustion air guide (2) by means of a blower (3, 4) and fuel gas is supplied via a gas nozzle (5). In the water supply pipe (9) or in the tap line (10) connected to the heat exchanger (8), a water throughput measuring device (14 - 19) is arranged and controls the combustion air throughput as well as - via a control valve (7) - the fuel-gas throughput to the burner (1). <IMAGE>
