Description
Multi-cylinder four-stroke carburetor engine The present invention relates to a multi-cylinder four-stroke carburetor engine with cylinders arranged in series.
To achieve a correct distribution of the mixture over all cylinders has already been proposed for such machines, two distribution lines and two circulation lines, each with at least the same cross-section as the distribution lines to be provided and in the middle of the cylinder bank one through the sucked in fuel-air mixture to arrange operated injector. Depending on the operating conditions here too high a flow rate of the mixture in the supply lines and as a result, too high a friction or throttle loss, and in particular through The increase in speed caused by the injector effect then had an unfavorable effect off as soon as the machine was working at maximum speed and power.
This disadvantage is now in the arrangement according to the invention eliminated that in the junctions one of the carburetor line to the circulation lines going connecting line suction valves are arranged through which the injector can be switched off, so that in this case the circulation lines as additional Connecting lines between the carburetor and distribution lines are used.
Thanks to this arrangement, there is smoke at maximum speeds and performance of the machine favorable ratios in the mixture supply, since the total resistance the suction line is reduced in size and the volumetric efficiency is improved, so that the mixture speed is kept within the practically permissible limits. The mixture flows to each cylinder through two lines, and there the total length these lines are the same for all cylinders, so are the friction losses and * therefore the mixture quantities are the same for each individual cylinder. As soon but the machine works with lower speeds and powers, can through Closing the suction valves of the injector are brought into effect, so that the mixture that speed is maintained which is necessary for a fuel elimination to prevent from the mixture. The cycle of the mixture in the two halves the device is forced by the injector effect.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing.
The mixture distribution pipe i is connected to the carburetor 4 via an injector, which consists of the nozzle 3 and the diffuser a, connected. From the extreme Ends of the distribution pipe i, which by means of short nozzles 5 with the suction valves the cylinder 6 is connected, circulation lines 7 lead to the suction point of the injector 2 to 3. The injector 2 to 3 forms together with the distribution line i and the circulation lines 7 are two identical ring lines, in which part of the Air-fuel mixture kept in constant circulation by the action of the injector will. This results in a higher mixture speed in the distribution line; the mixture never comes to a standstill and never changes its direction of movement, which means a. high level of uniformity of the mixture ensured for all cylinders is.
The carburetor line 4 is connected to the circulation lines by connecting lines 8 7 connected, and at the confluence points of these connecting lines in the circulation lines suction valves g are installed. This arrangement is used to achieve maximum performance at high numbers of revolutions. The suction valves g are either by hand for this purpose or automatically through the pressure difference arising at the maximum output and after the nozzle 3 opened. This almost nullifies the effect of the injector and the cycle of the mixture, which is unnecessary for high powers and high speeds disturbed. The mixture takes the path of least resistance. In the bypass line.? changes the direction of movement of the mixture, so that the same as additional Suction line works. From the associated enlargement of the suction line cross-section there is an increase in the volumetric efficiency.
