A process for producing grooved plate for use healds In patent 552,864 a method for the production of grooved plate for use healds is proposed in such a way that the final opening of the plate and the outer grooves are formed simultaneously. For this purpose, after punching out the opening, the shape of which corresponds to that of the finished plate, the edges of the opening are broken and the displaced Z-material is pressed against fixed cutting edges designed according to the desired groove shape.
In Abb. r
In
The invention relates to a further embodiment of this method and consists in that first circular or oval holes are punched in the flat metal strips of preferably rectangular cross-section at certain intervals, the mean widths of which in the longitudinal direction of the strip equal to those of the openings of the finished workpiece in these directions and the edges of which have already been broken on the short pieces of arches lying in the transverse direction. In Fig. R, a strip provided with the openings is shown on an enlarged scale. The solid lines of the openings correspond to the inner width of the finished plate; the dashed lines indicate the breaking of the edges. The openings in the metal strip pretreated in this way are now brought to the final size and shape by widening and rounding the edges lying in the longitudinal direction. As can be seen from Fig. A, this is done by means of punches d, which have tapered approaches b and oval cross-sections towards the ends. When these punches are pressed together, the openings are widened in the transverse direction and the edges of the opening lying in the longitudinal direction of the strip are broken, but the material is only displaced in the direction transverse to the strip. Fig. 3 shows a view of the stamp. In Fig.q. this stamp is shown rotated by 90 ' compared to the illustration in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 shows the front view of such a stamp and shows the design of the stamp attachment b. The ring-like, flat surface c of the punch, from which the punch attachment protrudes, prevents the laterally displaced material from moving up and down, rather it is forced to only flow laterally. At the same time, the cutting edges are moved against each other and against the evading material. This will press the side grooves into the strip. Due to this processing of the opening mainly transversely to the direction of the strip and the simultaneous pressing in of the lateral grooves by means of two pairs of punches that move perpendicular to each other, the material is pressed into a closed form, so to speak, when the finished shape of the opening and the grooves are formed that there is a guarantee for uniformity and accuracy in mass production. The cutting edges of the punches forming the grooves are expediently curved in accordance with the curved section of the inner opening of the strip that is facing towards it.
After the plate has been produced on the strip, the
opening-forming stamps brought apart and only then those forming the grooves
The stamp is lifted so that the platelets do not stick to the former stamps
can. Cutting out of the strip transversely to the direction of the strip takes place in a known manner
Way by means of appropriately designed semicircular, semi-elliptical or
angled punch, advantageously at the point in time when all
Stamp have completed their working stroke.
The procedure given here for insert plates with oval openings
can be used analogously for those with circular openings by adding in
. the strips punched circular holes and circular cone-shaped punches for shaping
the opening.
