Die bekannte Befestigung der genannten Art weist den Nachteil auf, daß die aus mattiertem Glas o. dgl. bestehende Glühlampenumhüllung häufig unter der von der Glühbirne entwickelten Wärme platzt. Dieses Platzen ist vor allem darauf zurückzuführen, daß der mit der transparenten Glühlampenumhüllung fest verkittete Gewindering eine andere Wärmeausdehnungszifer besitzt als das Material der Glühlampenumhüllung selbst, so daß die Glühlampenumhüllung bei der Erwärmung durch die in ihrem Inneren befindliche Glühbirne Spannungen erleidet, die das Platzen der Umhüllung herbeiführen.
