Description
Production of sodium carbonate and chlorammonium at the same time Extraction of ammonia The method according to the invention is used for further training a process proposed by the inventor himself for the production of sodium carbonate and chlorammonium, which is the result of the ammonia soda process solid sodium bicarbonate mixed with carbon by the action of nitrogen converted into sodium cyanide, the latter by treatment with steam with recovery split by sodium carbonate and the ammonia produced at the same time in the ammonia soda process is introduced and extracted as chlorammonium, with the aim of at the same time to enable the recovery of excess ammonia. It exists in that the nitrogen action with subsequent steam treatment with the same reaction mass is repeated several times.
However, it is known per se to cyanize ammonia To produce alkali hydroxide or carbonates and saponification of the resulting compounds, whereby the hydroxides or carbonates used as starting materials are reformed.
In contrast, the inventor's new technical rule is exclusive in the connection of this process stage with the process indicated above for Production of sodium carbonate and chlorammonium based on the known To behold ammonia soda process. That this achieves considerable advantages can result from the following considerations. First of all, it should be noted that new processes are by no means a process for the production of ammonia by Cyanization of alkali hydroxides and saponification of the resulting compounds under Represents the regression of the starting materials. Rather, the process is and remains a process for the production of sodium carbonate and chlorammonium according to that of procedure proposed to the inventor. The main difference compared to the mentioned cyanization process for the production of ammonia is rather in it to see that at. new process the cyanization and saponification of the reaction mass its primary purpose is to obtain sodium carbonate and chlorammonium. It would therefore run counter to the proposed procedure and defeat its purpose, when considering the proposed reuse of the same substances for the purpose of extraction of excess ammonia wanted to repeat practically endlessly. So that the sodium carbonate and chlorammonium main products and the excess ammonia by-product remain, can only use the same alkali component repeated about two or three times come into question, whereupon this alkali component from the process as a sales product is discharged to be replaced by new amounts of substance. This is in Essence of the matter insofar as the main advantage of the new procedure is that the recovery of the excess ammonia succeeds at surprisingly low costs, which would not be the case if ammonia coagulation became the main process. Will but the procedure is performed using very few repetitions, thus the occurrence of the desired advantages is obvious. The plants for the preparation the starting materials in the correct form and composition are namely for the The main process is necessary and available anyway, as are the processing equipment of the goods in the cyanide furnace and for saponification of the cyanide-containing masses formed. So there are only prime costs for the additionally obtained ammonia low additional costs for coal, steam and operating costs are taken into account. A Another advantage arises from the fact that the use of coal brought a certain amount of ash and slag components into the reaction mixture will. Since now with repeated cyanization and saponification the same amount of alkali carbon is consumed, new amounts of coal have to be added: This leads to an enrichment the entire reaction mass brought about by foreign substances, which of course not may get too big. Thus it was repeated with the usual, previously plowed Cyanization and saponification of alkalis necessary for the purpose of ammonia production, the reaction mass from time to time by leaching into the pure alkali component and separate the foreign matter. Then the purified alkali was again in the Circuit used until the enrichment with foreign substances again a cleaning made necessary.
This particular cleaning process is used for ammonia production completely gone in the process according to the invention because it is a commercial product discharged solid products (sodium carbonate and chlorammonium) cleaned anyway Need to become.
The implementation of the new method results in detail from following exemplary embodiment According to the known ammonia soda process, ammoniacal Saline solution, carbonic acid passed. The sodium bicarbonate that is no longer required is supplied by the remaining chlorammonium liquor by filtration or the like. Separated and from the chlorammonium liquor solid chlorammon obtained by any known method.
The sodium bicarbonate is now mixed with charcoal at a high temperature treated with nitrogen, whereby sodium cyanide is formed.
By treating the sodium cyanide with steam at lower, between about 400 and 500 ° C lying temperature. becomes the sodium cyanide in sodium carbonate and ammonia split.
According to the invention, the process stages of the effects of nitrogen are now and subsequent exposure to water vapor with the same reaction mass initially repeated a few times. The number of repetitions depends on the size the desired excess of ammonia.
Of the ammonia obtained in the manner shown above is used required proportion together with new table salt for the production of a new ammoniacal Saline solution, from the turn by repeating the 'overall process described Sodium carbonate and chlorammon are obtained.
The excess part of the accumulated ammonia is available at random Re-use available; he can, as already mentioned above, for example for the production of other nitrogenous fertilizers and in connection with the Chlorammonium obtained in the process is used to produce mixed fertilizers -will.
