Man verlangt von der Papiertafel, für deren Herstellung und Zusammensetzung zahlreiche Vorschläge schon gemacht worden sind, eine gewisse Biegsamkeit und Elastizität, damit sie eine gute Prägefähigkeit besitzt, aber auch die Feinheiten des Schriftsatzes oder des Schriftbildes möglichst genau aufnehmen und wiedergeben kann.
