stark reduziert.Process for the production of hot cathodes It is known in particular
to produce high-emitting hot cathodes by strongly reducing vapors
Metals act on suitably partially oxidized metal threads. For example one poses
Electron tubes are manufactured in this way by heating them while pumping them out
Barium azide decomposes and the barium vapors formed on an oxide-containing, expedient
act in a special way with an oxide layer of tungsten filament
leaves. The hot cathode formed in this way is very likely to receive its
high emissivity due to the fact that the barium contains the oxide stages of the filamentary metal or metals
with simultaneous formation of finely divided barium oxide more or less
greatly reduced.
anderer Gruppen, z. B. Ceroxyd oder Lanthanoxyd, in bestimmten Mengenverhältnissen
benutzt werden. Solche ausgesprochenen Maxima zeigt z.
On the other hand, it is known to have pronounced maxima of the emissivity
to obtain oxide cathodes by using mixtures of alkaline earth metal oxide with metal oxides
other groups, e.g. B. cerium oxide or lanthanum oxide, in certain proportions
to be used. Such pronounced maxima are shown by z. B. a mixture of go ° / o
Barium oxide and xo% lanthanum oxide or xo% barium oxide and go ° / a lanthanum oxide. To the

The invention aims to combine the advantages which the two
the above-mentioned process, the metal vapor process and the oxide mixture process,
Offer. For this purpose, with the help of the steam process on the surface
of the carrier metal is a mixture of metal oxides of the alkaline earth class with those of others
Classes according to the above examples for oxide mixtures in optimal
Composition generated. There are the metal of the carrier wire, for. B. tungsten,
Oxides of cerium, lanthanum, etc. in the course of the manufacturing process in fine distribution
and added in the necessary concentration and such a cathode support wire
subjected to the steam process using alkaline earth azide. It then arises
on the surface of the carrier wire a mixture of alkaline earth metal oxide with the
mentioned other oxides, and the working conditions can be chosen so that
in the end the most favorable composition of the finely divided oxide mixture for
the electron emission results. By having the carrier wire during processing
