Der senkrechte Füllschacht B, welcher vor dem Flammrohr A liegt und mit diesem durch geneigte Kanäle R R verbunden ist, wird unten durch die Schieberplatte M abgeschlossen und von oben von dem Rumpf S aus durch Vermittelung der Brechwalzen T beschickt. Diese werden mit Hülfe der Kegelrader V und der Stufenscheibe U beständig gedreht. Alsdann schiebt man mit Hülfe der Hebelvorrichtung Z die Platte M zur Seite und läfst Asche und Schlacken durch den Rumpf N hindurch auf das über die Rollen P laufende Transportband O aus unverbrennlichem Material fallen. Dieses befördert sie auf die geneigte Ebene Q. Je nach der Stellung der Platten E wird die Verbrennung in B beschleunigt oder aufgehalten.
