Description

Lighting device for ship and aircraft equipment and Navigation maps with phosphorescent fine divisions and symbols to make them visible in the dark one already has the divisions and inscriptions of instruments with phosphorescent Materials applied that made them shine through the action of invisible rays will. Since the luminosity of these substances is known to be weak, everyone must visible rays are switched off if possible.

On the other hand, it is important to ensure that those in the area are ider Objects located in the instruments can be recognized. To avoid this To achieve more disturbing light effects, lighting with red-violet or other visible rays are used, which reduce the sensitivity of the retina little affect.

The perfect lighting of the divisions, etc. at the same time Sufficient visualization of the surrounding objects is ensured according to the invention by applying a light source that has both invisible rays of the ultraviolet Zone of the spectrum as well as those visible, especially red-violet rays emits that do not affect the sensitivity of the retina.

The invention is of particular importance for the lighting of Driver's and observer's stands for watercraft and aircraft, where the driver or observer must have the opportunity to not only use the instruments, such as the Isompass, Höh ° iiinesser, tour counter, command transmitter and the like, to be observed, but rather also to see the objects surrounding him. For navigational instruments are up now only luminescent paints have been used, which you can use heavily during the day Can be irradiated by sunlight to make them self-luminous for the yacht. Here but if you had to use broad lines because of the weak luminosity, see above that no sufficiently fine graduation and accordingly no sufficiently accurate reading is possible was. Besides, the luminosity didn't last all night; one therefore had to refreshing by irradiating artificial ones repeatedly during the night make white intensive light, which means that not only during the irradiation the operation, but also for a long time afterwards the sensitivity of the observer's retina was disturbed. For this special application area, the irradiation is therefore the instruments with invisible rays that make the paint glow, an innovation of considerable importance.

To carry out the invention, an electric lamp with a spirally rolled-up metal thread in a gas atmosphere and with a bulb or a shade made of Woodschein glass (sodium silicate glass with about 10 to 12% nickel oxide and about 1 to 1 6 % zinc oxide) is used. When this lamp is operated with overvoltage, it emits abundant ultraviolet rays which pass through Wood's glass, which on the other hand absorbs the rays which impair the sensitivity of the retina.

The constant lighting stimulates the luminosity of the phosphorescent ones Salt vigorously, making devices with divisions in the form of fine lines at all can only be used. This lighting also brings fluorescent substances different color to glow. One is therefore able to read the inscriptions and partial lines of different colors, e.g. B. green, red,; yellow, etc., to produce what for compass roses and navigation maps is of considerable advantage.

The non-dazzling lighting can also be used alone to illuminate the compass rose. For this purpose, the case back of the rose is made of Wood's glass and the lamp serving as a light source is placed underneath it, which is inserted into his light-tight lantern. The rose itself is made of transparent material, and the fine graduation marks on its surface are made with phosphorescent or fluorescent salts.

Diese Lampe wird entweder über oder unter der Karte, angeordnet."Furthermore, with a device according to the invention, navigation maps be illuminated. For this purpose, the card whose information is phosphorescent or fluorescent salts are applied, illuminated by an intensive lamp, which is provided with a shade made of Wood's glass. This lamp will either above or below the map.
