Das sogenannte Festbrennen der Teile geschieht dadurch, daß zwischen den Teilen, welche meist mit Schlicht- oder Strammpassung zusammengesetzt werden, Öl sitzt, oder daß Öl infolge der Kapillarwirkung eindringt und dann in der Hitze teils verharzt und verkokst. Die Verharzung und Verkokung ist mit einer Volumenvergrößerung verbunden, so daß die Teile dann vollständig verkeilt sind.
