Abstract

A machine for recognising foreign bodies in a fibre stream has colour sensors working against a background on the opposite duct surface which has a similar colour and reflectivity as the fibre tufts in the stream. Pref. a condenser (1) feeds fibres into a chute (2) where a roller (3) compresses the fibres into a layer not more than 12 mm thick which passes a row of colour sensors (4, 5). The sensors provide signals to diverting jets (8) which direct foreign particles into a container (12) while good fibres leave through a suction duct (10). The background surface seen by the sensors can have a surface structure of pyramids, grooves or honeycomb patterns with a maximum height of 8 mm. It can have colour dots up to 1 mm or grains of less than 2 mm and have a reflectivity which differs by less than 25% from that of the fibres. The background duct surface can be a roller or a continuous conveying band.

Description

Die Patentanmeldung DE-P 43 40 165.1 und DE-P 43 40 173.2 zeigen eine neue Maschine die auf einfache Weise eine Erkennung und Ausschleusung der Fremdteile erlaubt. Ein wesentliches Element in der Maschine ist die Transporteinrichtung z. B. ein Transportband das die Fasern an den Sensoren vorbeiführt. Diese Transporteinrichtung muß mehrere Funktionen erfüllen. Eine Aufgabe ist die Verdichtung und Mitnahme der Fasern, eine andere die Bildung eines Hintergrundes für die Farberkennung. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, eine Ausführung der Transporteinrichtung die eine optimale Farbauswertung und Transport gewährleistet. Der Hintergrund ist für die Farberkennung wichtig.
