British Patent 8045 of 1906 states that in the manufacture of rayon from rayon, after passing through a coagulating bath, it can be passed through a second bath with an alkali silicate in solution in order to prevent the individual thread structures from sticking together. However, this method of manufacturing rayon has not found general acceptance in practice. Nowadays, viscose is consistently precipitated in an acidic bath. It has now been found that in the manufacture of synthetic threads and the like from viscose an aqueous solution of an alkali silicate, especially one of the acidic type, can very well be used for the direct precipitation or coagulation of the viscose can. For example, the introduction of viscose which is prepared in a known manner is obtained and can be matured, through fine nozzle openings in a spray jet into a precipitation bath, which is an alkali silicate, for example sodium s5 silikat von hohem Kieselsäuregehalt (SiO2-) im Verhältnis zum Natriumgehalt (Na2Oj enthält, feine, gleichmäßige Fäden, die nach dem in üblicher oder geeigneter Weise vorzunehmenden Fixieren der üblichen Nach- und Fertigbehandlung unterzogen werden können und eine Kunstseide von hervorragender Güte darstellen.s5 silicate of high silica content (SiO 2- ) in relation to the sodium content (Na 2 Oj contains, fine, even threads, which can be subjected to the usual finishing and finishing treatment after fixing in the usual or suitable manner, and a rayon of excellent quality represent. B. mit einprozentiger Schwefelsäure, und nach den üblichen Nachbehandlungen gewinnt man so einen glänzenden Faden von hervorragender Güte und vorzüglichen Eigenschaften, goViscose, as it is prepared for the usual production of rayon using the acidic precipitation method, is injected into a solution containing 20 percent by weight sodium silicate with the composition 2 Na 2 O + 7 SiO 2 , and at a temperature of 40 to 50 ° C obtain. This bath, although it can be described as strongly alkaline in the usual sense, has the property of coagulating the viscose in solid form. After fixing the material to be felled, e.g. B. with one percent sulfuric acid, and after the usual after-treatments you get a shiny thread of excellent quality and excellent properties, go Patenτ-A νSpruchε:Patenτ-A νSuchε: ι. Process for the production of synthetic threads and the like from viscose, thereby characterized in that the precipitation or coagulation of the viscose by means of an aqueous Solution of an alkali silicate is brought about. 2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that an alkali silicate of high silica content is used for the precipitation solution used in relation to the alkali oxide content.
