Description

.Process for the production of paints. Addendum to Patent 383699 by : the main patent is a process for the production of solutions of acetyl cellulose with a content of less than 50 percent acetic acid in ethylene chlorohydrin-water mixtures protected. .

It has now been found that this specific solvency for the acetyl celluloses mentioned, aqueous 1Ionochlorhydrin also applies. So solves a mixture of 40 parts by weight of lfonochlorohydrin and 60 parts by weight of water this acetyl celluloses to technically valuable solutions, while it is acetyl cellulose hardly attacks with more than 50 percent acetic acid. Compared to the ethylene chlorhydrin-'U7'asser-Gemiscllen the aqueous monochlorohydrin has the property with the designated acetylcellulose type to give slower evaporating solutions. This 1? Irelianship is for certain techni> clie Purposes such as rotary printing. necessary. Furthermore, you can Mixtures full of Ethyleliclilorhydrin-nlänoc-lilorhydrin-M'as-, he in the most varied Mixing ratios are very advantageous for paint purposes. especially for manufacturing of coating varnishes. The ones marked for the solutions of the main patent Advantages: fire hazard, unhindered processing, low price In comparison to acetone solutions, the same applies to those described above Solutions which, depending on the technical purposes, can also be used with plasticizers, Allow resins, dyes and the like to be processed. Example t. 20 parts by weight of acetyl cellulose with an acetic acid content of 4 .; Percent «earth in a mixture of 10 parts by weight Monochlorohydrin and 40 parts by weight of water with the addition of 20 parts by weight Methylene acetoacetic ester according to patent -j7C3 j.1; solved and with the required Amounts of pigment color rubbed off on the roller mill. This mass results in a high quality Printing ink. which is also suitable for rotary printing. example z. 5 parts by weight of acetyl cellulose with .14 percent acetic acid content are in a Mixture of 0 parts by weight of 3-ethylene chlorohydrin in 2 parts by weight of monochlorohydrin ao dissolved in water. This solution is advantageously used as a spreadable varnish.
