Zusatz zum Patent 383699 Durch :das Hauptpatent ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Lösungen der Acetylcellulose mit einem geringeren Gehalt' als 5o Prozent Essigsäure in Äthylenchlorhydrin-Wasser-Gemischen geschützt. .Process for the production of paints. Es wurde nun weiter gefunden, daß dieses spezifische Lösungsvermögen für die genannten Acetylcellulosen auch wäßrigem 1Ionochlorhydrin zukommt. So löst ein Gemisch von 4o Gewichtsteilen lfonochlorhydrin und 6o Gewichtsteilen Wasser diese Acetvlcellulosen zu technisch wertvollen Lösungen auf, während es Acetylcellulose mit mehr als 5o Prozent Essigsäure kaum angreift. Im Vergleich zu den Äthylenchlorliydrin-'U7'aSser-Gemiscllen besitzt das wäßrige Monochlorhydrin die Eigenschaft, mit der bezeichneten Acetylcelluloseart langsamer verdunstende Lösungen zu geben. Diese 1?irelischaft ist für gewisse techni>clie Zwecke, wie beispielsweise den Rotationsdruck. erforderlich. Weiterhin lassen sich Gemische voll Äthyleliclilorhydrin-nlänoc-lilorhydrin-M'as-,er in den verschiedensten Mischungsverhältnssen sehr vorteilhaft für Lackzwecke. inbesondere zur Herstellung von Streichlacken, verwenden. Die für die Lösungen des Hauptpatentes gekennzeichneten Vorzüge: Feuerungefährlichkeit, unbehinderte Verarbeitungsweise, niedriger Preis im Vergleich zu Acetonlösungen gelten in gleicher `'eise für die oben beschriebenen Lösungen, die sich ebenfalls je nach den technischen Zwecken mit Weichmachungsmitteln, Harzen, Farbstoffen u. dgl. verarbeiten lassen. Beispiel t. 2o Gewichtsteile Acetylcellulose mit einem Essigsäuregehalt von 4.; Prozent «-erden in einem Gemisch von 1o Gewichtsteilen Monochlorhydrin und 4o Gewichtsteilen Wasser unter Zusatz von 2o Gewichtsteilen Methylenacetessigester gemäß Patent -j7C3 j.1; gelöst und mit den erforderlichen Mengen Pigmentfarbe auf dem Walzenstuhl abgerieben. Diese Masse ergibt eine hochwertige Druckfarbe. die auch für den Rotationsdruck geeignet ist. Beispiel z. 5 Gewichtsteile Acetylcellulose mit .14 Prozent Essigsäuregehalt werden in einer Mischung von ¢o Ge«zchtsteilen 3thylenchlorhy drin 2o Gewichtsteilen Monochlorhydrin ao GenlchtSteilen Wasser gelöst.
