Description

Process for the manufacture of glass funnels. The manufacture of glass funnels has been done by hand in the hut so far. The conical hollow body was raised by means of suitable tools, with a particular skill of the worker was required to give the conical part the correct angular position, z. B. 6o ° to give.

In the method for producing glass funnels according to the invention, use is made of the known method of producing hollow bodies (especially conical ones) in such a way that two of them are blown together with their base circles in a mold and the hollow body obtained in this way is blown to the greatest extent . The invention consists essentially in blowing a hollow body in the form of two cones standing on top of one another with their base circles, but then pulling out the pipe attachment to the funnel tube and finally, as is known, disassembling the hollow body at the base circle of the cones. The method according to the invention is explained with reference to the drawing. First, a hollow body is blown into a mold, which consists of two cones a and b connected at their base circles (Fig. I). The axial cross-section results in a square or a rhombus, depending on which one is desired. Angular position of the funnel cone. After this double-cone-shaped hollow body has been blown into the mold with the pipe, a funnel pipe is formed from the pipe attachment c by pulling it out. If you blast off the blown hollow body on the base line d of the cones a and b, the two funnel bodies a1 and b1 result (Fig. 2). The funnel tube e is later attached to the conical hollow body jbl in front of the lamp either by hand or also by machine, while the hollow body d, as noted, has already received a funnel tube c1 when blowing.

In the embodiment according to Figure 3, the circular base line is f blown outwards as a bead g, which makes it easier to detach.

Using the method described above, it is also easily possible manufacture ribbed funnels as well as funnels of any shape.
