Description
Process for removing naphthalene from distillation gas. There are two methods are known to remove the naphthalene from distillation gas. To for one, tar oils are used for this purpose; is this tar oil with naphthalene when saturated, it must be regenerated or replaced with fresh oil. This method is uneconomical and cumbersome, as the oil is only used for naphthalene washing will. The other method relies on the use of water, which is the gas cool and mechanically remove the precipitated naphthalene. Like practice teaches, this way of working is ineffective.
The invention is based on the perception that the saturated washing oil, which was used to wash out the benzene, has the property of naphthalene remove from the warm gases. When cooling to around 35 °, the gas separates part of the naphthalene, which gives rise to the known disturbances. For benzene leaching, however, the gas must be cooled as deeply as possible, to achieve a good washing effect. According to the sense of the invention, this is now Wash oil saturated with benzene is used again to wash out the gas, namely at a temperature of about 35 to 40 ', at which the low-boiling components of the scrubbing oil cannot be resumed by the gas. It arises here the great advantage that a special oil for the removal of the naphthalene is not is required, and also that the apparatus, as used in coking plants or gas works are present, can be used for washing out the naphthalene.
As mentioned earlier, the prerequisite for success is that the Washing oil does not release any components into the gas. At around 40 'there is such a charge not to be feared, since the condensate obtained at this temperature up to 2o Percent contains components that boil between zoo ° and 2oo °. The benzene-saturated MTash oil passes over after naphthalene has been absorbed and after the water has been removed the abortion machines, where light oil and naphthalene are removed from it. The advantage this process is particularly to be sought in the fact that light oil and naphthalene with The same washing oil can be removed, thereby reducing both energy and equipment Savings are to be achieved.
