Der Motor 1 ist in dem Motorraum 2 vollständig schallisolierend gekapselt. An der Frontpartie des Fahrzeuges wird die von dem Motor 1 benötigte Verbrennungsluft durch eine zwischen zumindest einem der Scheinwerfer 3 und dem Kühler 4 angeordnete Öffnung 8 angesaugt. Zur Aufnahme dieser angesaugten Verbrennungsluft ist eine Ansaugkammer 9 vorgesehen, die sich vom Fahrzeugbug aus seitlich am Motor 1 entlang erstreckt. Begrenzt wird diese Ansaugkammer 9 von der Fahrzeugkarosserie und der im Motorraum 2 vom Kühler 4 aus seitlich am Motor 1 vorbeiführenden Kanalwand 7. Zwischen Motor 1 und Kühler 4 verläuft die Trennwand 5, die an der Kanalwand 7 endet. In der Kammer 9 sind versetzt zueinander mehrere beispielsweise keilförmige Wände 10 eingebaut, durch die zwischen der Öffnung 9 und einer Ansaugleitung 11 ein mäanderförmig verlaufender Ansaugluftkanal 12 gebildet wird. Zur Geräuschdämpfung kann die Oberfläche des Ansaugluftkanals 12 mit einem Absorptionsmaterial 13 belegt werden. Des weiteren ist es möglich, die Abstände zwischen den Wänden 10 unterschiedlich zu gestalten, um unterschiedliche Kanalquerschnitte und damit einen Ansaugluftkanal mit einem breitbandigen Frequenzspektrum zu erhalten.The cooling air penetrating the radiator 4 does not enter the encapsulated engine compartment 2 , but is discharged from the engine compartment 2 through a separate duct 6 .
