Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Gelenkprothese für ein Hüftgelenk mit einem in einen Schenkelknochen zu implantierenden Schaft.
Derartige Schäfte werden üblicherweise aus Stahl oder Stahllegierungen hergestellt, die zum Teil auch mit Keramiküberzügen versehen sind. Es kommt vor, daß derartige Schäfte nach der Implantierung brechen.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Brechen der implantierten Schäfte zu vermeiden.
Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe durch Anwendung der Merkmale des Kennzeichens des Anspruchs 1 gelöst. Bei Anwendung der Erfindung erhält der zu implantierende Schaft unter weitgehender Beibehaltung der mechanischen Festigkeit eine gewisse Elastizität, so daß leichte Formänderungen nicht ursächlich für einen Bruch werden können. Insbesondere Dauerbrüche, die von einem geringen Anriß oder von einer Kerbe ausgehen können, werden vermieden.
Die Erfindung ist anhand der Zeichnung beschrieben. In dieser zeigen die
Fig. 1 bis 3 drei Ausführungsbeispiele jeweils in einer schematischen, teilweise aufgebrochenen Seitenansicht.
Fig. 1 zeigt einen Hüftknochen 1 mit einem implantierten Schaft. Der Schaft besteht aus einem Kopfabschnitt 2 mit einem kugelförmigen Gelenkteil 3. Der Kopfabschnitt ist aus einem festen Werkstoff, beispielsweise Stahl oder einer Stahllegierung hergestellt. Fest mit dem Kopfabschnitt 2 ist ein elastischer Abschnitt 4 verbunden, der aus Federstahl besteht und den unteren Teil des Schaftes bildet.
Der Schaft des Ausführungsbeispieles gemäß Fig. 2 umfaßt einen Kopfabschnitt 5 mit einem kugelförmigen Gelenkteil 6 und einen Fußabschnitt 7. Beide Abschnitte 5, 7 sind wiederum aus einem festen Werkstoff, beispielsweise Stahl oder einer Stahllegierung, hergestellt. Zwischen den Abschnitten 5 und 7 ist ein elastischer Abschnitt 8 angeordnet. Der Abschnitt 8 besteht aus einem Federstahl, dessen beide Enden fest in einem der Abschnitte 5, 7 verankert sind.
Beim Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 3 sind drei Abschnitte 9, 10 und 11 aus einem festen Werkstoff vorgesehen. Zwischen diesen Abschnitten sind zwei Abschnitte 12, 13 aus einem elastischen Werkstoff angeordnet. Die Abschnitte 12, 13 bestehen aus einem körperverträglichen einem Kunststoff mit etwa dem Hartgummi vergleichbarer Elastizität. Die Abschnitte 12, 13 können an die metallischen Abschnitte 9 bis 11 anvulkanisiert sein. Es besteht jedoch auch die Möglichkeit, das Material der Abschnitte 12, 13 formschlüssig an den Abschnitten 9 bis 11 zu verankern. Hierzu können in den Abschnitten 9 bis 11 hinterschnittene Nuten vorgesehen sein, in die das Material der Abschnitte 12, 13 eingreift. Auch ein Verkleben der Abschnitte untereinander ist möglich. Zweckmäßig sind die Abschnitte 12, 13 so dimensioniert, daß sich eine glatt durchlaufende Außenfläche für den Schaft ergibt.

Claims (5)

1. Gelenkprothese für ein Hüftgelenk mit einem in einen Schenkelknochen zu implantierenden Schaft, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schaft zumindest einen aus einem elastischen Werkstoff hergestellten Abschnitt (4, 8, 12, 13) aufweist.
2. Gelenkprothese nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schaft einen aus einem starren Werkstoff bestehenden Kopfabschnitt (2) und einen damit fest verbundenen Abschnitt (4) aus einem elastischen Werkstoff umfaßt.
3. Gelenkprothese nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schaft aus mindestens einem Abschnitt (8) aus elastischem Werkstoff besteht, der zwischen zwei Abschnitten (5, 7) aus einem starren Werkstoff angeordnet ist.
4. Gelenkprothese nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichent, daß der elastische Abschnitt (4, 6) aus Federstahl hergestellt ist.
5. Gelenkprothese nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der elastische Abschnitt (12, 13) aus einem Kunststoff hergestellt ist.
