Process for the neutralization of waste acids. According to the process described in patent 367595, waste acids, such as those produced in the wood sugar industry, are to be neutralized by sulphides of the alkaline earths, while at the same time the hydrogen sulphide which is formed is made usable. Sulphides, which were obtained from sulphates (gypsum) by reduction in a known manner, are to be used.
The present invention relates to a further embodiment of this
Procedure. It consists in the fact that one sulfites or sulfides or sulfhydrates of the
alkaline earth enters the waste acids and these neutralizing agents for
the further implementation of the process by introducing the evolved gases into
recovers the oxides of the alkaline earth.
In detail, this procedure is carried out roughly as follows:
Either sulphide or sulphite is used as a neutralizing agent. When applied
The first-mentioned substance develops hydrogen sulphide, which is converted into an oxide
the alkaline earth, e.g. in milk of lime, introduces, whereby sulfhydrate is formed,
which in turn is used again as a neutralizing agent. If you choose that
If sulfite is used as a neutralizing agent, the process proceeds in a similar way. It
sulphurous acid develops, which is also introduced into milk of lime, so that
Calcium sulphite regresses, which is now used again as a neutralizing agent
Waste acid adds. In this way one creates an advantageous cycle,
which makes the introduction of new amounts of sulfur unnecessary.
Erst in zweiter
So while the process according to the main patent is always new
Amount of sulfate as a starting material for the process, with which one next to the neutralization
at the same time achieved the recovery of sulfur, according to the present invention
primarily refrain from adding new sulphurous substances.
Rather, the neutralization process should be carried out in such a way that the neutralizing agent
be passed through the waste acid in a continuous cycle. Only in the second
In this process, the extraction of sulfur also comes into consideration
is carried out so that the sulfides and sulfites are simultaneously or alternately
used as a neutralizing agent. Through simultaneous action of these substances
Sulfur is formed on top of each other.
