The present invention relates to the manufacture of pulp making suitable alkali mono and / or alkali bisulphite solutions practically free of calcium salts using the waste eyes created in the cooking process.
It has already been proposed to produce alkali sulfite or alkali bisulfite solutions from alkali sulfates, in particular potassium sulfate, by reaction with calcium bisulfite or its components in two steps, the solution containing potassium bisulfite and a lot of calcium ions being mixed with further amounts of potassium sulfate in the second step and thus under Precipitation of calcium potassium sulfate was converted into a potassium bisulfite solution with relatively few calcium ions. The solution thus obtained was then freed from the dissolved lime by evaporation to a high concentration. From the processing of the calcium bisulfite waste eyes produced during pulp production, it is also known to convert calcium bisulfites in solution into calcium monosulfites by means of Ca (OH) 2 and also to convert the calcium monosulfite back into calcium bisulfite by treatment with sulphurous acid.
In contrast, the present invention now relates to a method in order from the the pulp production by digestion with alkali sulfur compounds Waste eyes to produce alkali monosulphite and / or alkali bisulphite solutions that are used for extraction of pulp are suitable. The condition for this is that the solutions are complete or are practically free of calcium salts. Above all, the gypsum that is formed during the implementation and its solubility is considerably larger in alkali sulphite and bisulphite solutions than in calcium bisulphite solutions, be removed from the solution, since its presence in the opening process has a very harmful influence. This is according to the invention without evaporation of the solutions produced achieved in a very simple and satisfactory manner.
The so pre-cleaned residue is dissolved in water according to the invention, the solution is then treated with SO 2 and finely divided calcium carbonate or another calcium compound that can form calcium bisulfite with SO 2 until the alkali salts present are converted into bisulfites, whereupon the now mainly made of alkali and calcium bisulfite

In addition to gypsum, after the SO 2 supply has been interrupted, the existing solution is further treated with such quantities of finely divided calcium carbonate oxide or hydroxide until the calcium bisulfite is converted into insoluble calcium monosulfite and so much of the alkali bisulfites present are converted into corresponding monosulfites that the Gypsum has converted into calcium monosulphite, whereupon the calcium monosulphite precipitate is separated off.
The alkali bisulphites or alkali monosulphites or mixtures obtained in this way both containing solutions are practically free of calcium salts and suitable for use excellently suited for pulp production.
Das Verfahren wird in folgender Weise ausgeführt:The procedure is carried out in the following way:
The waste eyes used as the starting material, ie waste eyes of alkali sulfite, alkali bisulfite or sulfate pulp production 3 are first evaporated in the usual manner and then subjected to combustion with a supply of air, with their organic components being incinerated. The content of sulfides and thiosulfates is removed in a known manner from the combustion residue obtained in this way, either after dissolving the melt in water, by simple precipitation or by converting these compounds into the corresponding sulfites and sulfates, either by roasting the combustion residue or by reaction can happen in solution.
The residue pre-cleaned in this way is, if it is not already in solution, in Dissolved water and then contains mainly alkali carbonates, alkali sulfites and sulfates.
According to the invention, this solution is treated with SO 2 and one of the lime compounds mentioned, such as calcium carbonate in a finely divided state, for the purpose of converting the alkali salts into bisulfites. The sulphurous acid reacts in a known manner partly directly with the alkali metal carbonate to form alkali bisulphite, partly with the added lime compound to form calcium bisulphite. The calcium bisulfite in turn then reacts further with the alkali sulfate to form alkali bisulfite and gypsum, which is mainly obtained as a precipitate.
After this treatment, the solution thus contains alkali bisulphites, calcium bisulphite, a larger or smaller amount of free SO 2 and also a certain amount of gypsum in dissolved form corresponding to the solubility ratio for gypsum in the solution.
This solution is now, if necessary after separation of the precipitate, for. B. by filtration, and after interruption of the SO 2 supply, further amounts of the 5g finely divided calcium compound are expediently mixed with vigorous stirring. The lime first settles with the free SO 2 in the solution to form calcium bisulfite. and then picks up SO 2 from the bisulfites present in the solution, thereby forming monosulfites. The monosulfite formation occurs first with the calcium bisulfite and then with the alkali bisulfite and progresses according to the amount of added kaikes.
Since calcium monosulfite has very low solubility, it precipitates out of solution when it is formed. As the conversion to monosulfites progresses, the solution is freed from calcium salts previously dissolved in it. After all calcium bisulphite has been converted into calcium monosulphite and precipitated out of the solution so that the solution only contains alkali bisulphite and gypsum, the alkali bisulphite reacts with the added lime compound to form alkali monosulphite, as a result of which monosulphite ions occur in the solution. Once this happens, go REA but crave this with the plaster, as Calciummonosulfit is much less soluble than gypsum, to form Calciummonosulfit, while at the same alkali metal sulfate is produced, which in the precipitated gypsum equivalent amount in the solution is present after the end of treatment.
Wurde der in der ersten Stufe desIf an amount of the alkali bisulphites in Monosulfite has been transferred, as a result of which the gypsum is practically completely made up removed from the solution. If an alkali bisulphite solution is to be produced, the lime additive is used interrupted at this point. The solution obtained then contains, apart from small amounts of alkali metal sulfates, only alkali metal bisulfites. If, on the other hand, mixed alkali bisulphite and monosulphite solutions are to be produced, then so the addition of lime is such that the part of the alkali bisulfites that is above the Gypsum content of the solution goes beyond the equivalent part, in the desired mixing ratio corresponding amount is converted into monosulfites. Finally, the production of alkali mononng exclusively Sulphites, one continues with the addition of lime until the total amount of Alkali bisulfites are converted into monosulfites. After completion of the implementation, the formed-precipitate in a suitable manner, iso z. B. by filtration, separated from the solution. Was the in the first stage of the
Aus der Lösung ist also durch die obenerwähnte Behandlung eine gewisse im Calciummonosulfit gebundene Menge vonGypsum precipitate formed in the process before the start of calcium monosulfite precipitation separated from the solution, contains the precipitate obtained in the second stage except for small amounts of possibly unreacted calcium compound, only calcium monosulfite. The abovementioned treatment has left the solution with a certain amount of bound in the calcium monosulfite
So that this SO 2 is not lost, but is returned to the process, the separated precipitate can be used together with SO 2 to treat a new amount of solution, ie
als Ersatz eines Teils der sonst zu dieser Behandlung der Lösung erforderlichen Calciumverbindungen ausgenutzt werden.as a replacement for some of the calcium compounds otherwise required for this treatment of the solution be exploited.
Das Calciummonosulfit des Niederschlages setzt sich dabei mit der SO2 leichter zu CaI-The calcium monosulfite of the precipitate settles more easily with the SO 2 to calcium
B. is the case with calcium carbonate, and then reacts with the alkali sulfates in the manner indicated above. With this process, the SO 2 bound in the calcium monosulfite is reintroduced into the process without losses.
