Abstract
The explosion-type steam engine generates steam internally having a cylinder with compression chamber and reciprocating piston. The piston has a connecting rod leading to a crankshaft. A heater is mounted in one end of the cylinder, together with a water injector. The compression chamber (5) contains a single valve (8), shut during thecompression and working strokes and open during the exhaust and suction strokes, leading to an insulated compensation chamber (9). The latter contains a pressure relief valeve (10) leading to the atmosphere. The injector (7) comprises a nozzle delivering water in a finely-divided mist.
