Arrangement of water gas generators. When operating water gas generators
is known to proceed in such a way that after a sufficient period of hot blowing the air supply
turned off and steam is passed through the now glowing coke until
the resulting cooling of the filling is a further economical gas extraction
excludes, whereupon it is blown hot again after the steam access has been completed. It
it has been shown that from the beginning of the gas cycle
to the in
the amount of steam converted into water gas decreases rapidly in the unit of time. But since so far
the amount of steam supplied in the unit of time from the beginning to the end of the gas night
remains the same, there is once a very considerable loss of unused
Steam, furthermore, the quality of the gas produced is impaired by the fact that
the excess steam present increases its carbonic acid content undesirably high,
Quite apart from the rapid cooling caused by this excess of steam
the coke filling.
Dampfes entspricht. The invention remedies these inconveniences in that in the steam supply line
to the gas generator an automatically acting valve, a flat slide, piston slide
o. The like. Is installed, which gradually opens after the steam inlet has been opened
throttles, whereby from the beginning to the end of the gas afternoons the in the time unit
The amount of steam added corresponds to the amount converted into water gas in each case at the same time
Corresponds to steam.
For this purpose, after opening the shut-off valve, it will be more mobile
Part of the action is exposed to a force that returns it to the closed position,
at the same time the speed of this return by an adjustable
Fluid brake, spring or the like. Is matched. This can also be done by corresponding
Design of the steam access openings exactly the course of the decrease in the steam supply
adjust accordingly to the course of the decrease in the amount of steam converted into water gas.
In Fig. Z of the drawing is to symbolize the invention
Piston slide in connection with pawl and oil brake in the closed state in
Longitudinal section shown.
h und i.
i
It is opened by lifting the rod a, the piston b connected to it exposing the slots c of the cylinder d so that the steam flows through the inlet flange e and the outlet flange f to the gas generator. Between the rod a and the piston rod g, which is movably guided in the piston, a pawl is switched on in the form of two interlocking hooks h and i. As soon as the piston approaches its upper end position, the hook i , which is rotatable about the pin k , is pushed to the side by the stop l, thereby releasing the connection between the two hooks h and i . The piston b now gradually returns to the closed position due to its own weight, possibly with the aid of a load from weight, spring, steam pressure or the like, slowed down by the action of an oil brake, as which the lower part m of piston b together with the lower part of the cylinder d is formed. The time it takes for the steam to gradually throttle down to complete completion is determined by the valve o built into the oil circulation line n of the oil brake. The regularity according to which the throttling of the steam should take place is taken into account by the corresponding shape of the slots c, as in Figs. 2, 3 and q. illustrates in which in each case on the left side any shape of the slot and on the right side the course of the throttling corresponding to this is shown. The spring P serves to take up the weight of the rod a, the pawl h, i and the piston rod g, the spring q to take up the weight of the oil valve r. In order to enable quick manual closing if necessary, the writing of the oil valve y is extended to just below the piston rod g, so that when the rod a is pressed down, the piston rod g first presses on the shaft of the oil valve r and opens it, creating the counter pressure the oil brake is switched off.
