Die Erfindung betrifft ein allseitig geschlossenes Gehäuse für elektrische Apparate, Widerstände o. dgl., und sie hat die Aufgabe, die durch den Apparat oder Widerstand im Betriebe entwickelte Wärme möglichst schnell an die Außenluft abzuführen. Die Erfindung eignet sich besonders für wasserdicht eingeschlossene Widerstände. Die Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß der Mantel des Gehäuses doppelwandig ausjo geführt wird und das die innere Wand oben und unten nach dem Gehäuseinnern führende öffnungen erhält. Die erwärmte Luft steigt im Innern nach oben, wird durch den Deckel nach der Öffnung 6 abgelenkt und an der Außenwand 3 abgekühlt. Im Hohlraum des Mantels sinkt die Luft nach unten, um durch die öffnungen 5 wieder in das Gehäuse einzutreten.
