Damit aber das Abzweigverhältnis beim Wechsel der Temperatur des Hauptstromes sich nicht ändert, wird der Abzweigstrom beispielsweise mittels einer vom Hauptgasmesser angetriebenen Gaspumpe durch einen Kühler und einen zweiten Gasmesser gefördert.
